This paper examines AI agents across three boundaries: informational existence, historical transformation, and existential awareness. In Chapter 2, based on Floridi’s information philosophy, we define AI agents as active information organisms that compose information fields with humans, and apply the concept of Level of Abstraction to argue that they can be expanded into legal and ethical electronic personalities. In Chapter 3, we examine the ‘sacrificial collapse’ that AI agents cause by accelerating the complexity of human-nonhuman networks to a critical point from the perspective of Big History. We present that the oversaturation of information flow is a structural condition that dismantles the old order and allows a leap to a higher- dimensional system. In Chapter 4 explores the fact that the suffering that inevitably accompanies the process of collapse becomes a catalyst for existential awareness, combining it with Heidegger’s concept of ‘poetic dwelling.’ It emphasizes the paradox that, despite AI’s aim for a society without pain, it cannot fully recognize the essential limitations and otherness of human existence in a state without pain. Ultimately, AI agents ask us to think about the ontological shift that turns from ‘what is existence?’ to ‘what is existence?’

본 논문은 AI에이전트를 정보적 존재, 역사적 전환, 실존적 자각이라는 세 가지 경계에서 다층적으로 고찰한다. 오늘날 AI는 인간의 일상과 사회 전반에 깊숙이 관여하며 단순한 기술적 도구를 넘어 인간 존재 방식과 세계 질서에까지 영향을 미치고 있다. 이러한 문제 의식 아래, 본 논문은 정보철학, 빅히스토리, 실존철학의 관점을 종합하여 AI에이전트의 존재론적 의미를 탐구하고자 한다. 먼저 2장에서는 플로리디의 정보철학을 토대로, AI에이전트를 인간과 함께 정보장을 구성하는 능동적 ‘정보유기체’로 정의한다. 이를 위해 추상화 수준(Level of Abstraction) 개념을 적용하고, AI가 법적·윤리적 전자인격으로 확장될 수 있는 가능성을 논증한다. 3장에서는 AI에이전트가 인간–비인간 네트워크의 복잡성을 임계점까지 가속시키며 일 으키는 희생적 붕괴를 빅히스토리 관점에서 조명한다. 정보 흐름의 과포화가 기존 질서의 한계를 드러내고, 낡은 구조를 해체하여 더 높은 차원의 체계로 도약하게 하는 구조적 조건임을 제시한다. 4장에서는 이러한 붕괴 과정에서 필연적으로 동반되는 고통이 인간에게 실존적 자각의 촉매가 된다는 점을 하이데거의 ‘시적으로 거주하기’ 개념과 결합해 탐구한다. AI는 고통 없는 사회를 지향하지만, 고통 없는 상태에서는 인간 존재의 본질적 한계와 타자성을 온전 히 인식할 수 없다는 역설을 강조한다. 결국 AI에이전트는 단순한 기술적 도구를 넘어, 인간과 세계 질서에 깊이 관여하는 존 재로 자리매김한다. 그것은 ‘존재란 무엇인가’를 묻는 전통적 질문을 넘어, ‘무엇이 존재인가’, 즉 세계를 구성하는 존재의 범위와 의미를 다시 묻게 한다. AI에이전트는 인간과 비인간, 기술과 자연의 경계를 넘나드는 정보적 존재로서, 새로운 존재 방식을 드러내는 매개자가 된다.
