In recent years, the phenomenon of mural revitalization driven by digital technology has sparked innovation in the field of cultural heritage. However, most research on this topic remains focused at the level of technical application, lacking a deeper ontological perspective on images. This paper takes W. J. T. Mitchell’s “living image” theory as its starting point, aiming to construct an interdisciplinary analytical framework for “technologically symbiotic living images” to explore how mural revitalization, through technological empowerment, enables static images to regain “aliveness”, as well as the cultural power relations and ethical challenges underlying this process.

최근 몇 년간 디지털 기술에 의해 추동되는 벽화 활성화 현상은 문화유산 분야에서 혁신을 촉발시켰다. 그러나 이 주제에 대한 대부분의 연구는 여전히 기술 적용 수준에 머물러 있으며 이미지에 대한 더 깊은 존재론 적 시각이 부족하다. 본 논문은 W. J. T. 미첼의 ‘살아있는 이미지’ 이론을 출발점으로 삼아, ‘기술 공생형 살아있 는 이미지’에 대한 학제간 분석 프레임워크를 구축하고, 기술적 역량 강화를 통해 정적 이미지가 어떻게 다시 ‘생 명력’을 획득하는지, 그리고 이 과정에 내재된 문화적 권력 관계와 윤리적 도전을 탐구하고자 한다.
