This study aims to examine the relationship between digital device-based instruction on students’ daily digital device use. Using data from the second year of the Seoul Student Longitudinal Study targeting middle school students, a multiple regression analysis was conducted to investigate the relationship between digital device-based instruction and both students’ digital device dependence and their frequency of use for different purposes. The key findings are as follows. First, digital device-based instruction was not significantly associated with students’ digital device dependency. Second, digital device-based instruction was positively and significantly associated with the frequency of digital device use for purposes such as internet searching and learning activities. However, it showed no significant relationship with the frequency of digital device use for gaming, communication, or social networking services(SNS). Based on these findings, this study suggests that the positive aspects of digital device-based instruction in promoting students’ digital well-being should be emphasized. Additionally, it recommends supporting teachers in enhancing their professional competencies to effectively implement digital device-based instruction.

본 연구는 디지털 기기 활용 수업과 학생의 일상적 디지털 기기 활용의 관계를 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 2022년에 수집된 서울학생종단연구 2차년도 중학생 데이터를 토대로 다중회 귀분석을 실시하여 디지털 기기 활용 수업과 학생의 디지털 기기 의존도 및 목적별 디지털 기기 활용 빈도의 관계를 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 디지털 기기 활용 수업은 디지털 기기 의존도와 유의한 관계를 갖지 않는다. 둘째, 디지털 기기 활용 수업은 인터넷 검색과 학 습을 위한 디지털 기기 활용 빈도와 정적으로 유의한 관계를 가지며, 게임과 연락 및 SNS 사 용을 위한 디지털 기기 활용 빈도와는 유의한 관계를 갖지 않는다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕 으로 디지털 기기 활용 수업이 학생의 디지털 웰빙과 관련하여 갖는 긍정적 측면을 적극적으 로 홍보하고, 교사들의 디지털 기기 활용 수업 역량 강화를 지원해야 함을 제언하였다.
