The purpose of this study is to design a data science education program that can foster digital citizenship of elementary school students. The development of digital technology has changed the way humans think and make decisions, which has resulted in a major transition to a digital society. In an ever-changing digital society, what students need is the cultivation of digital citizenship based on digital literacy and ethical awareness. To this end, a total of 14 educational programs were designed for elementary school learners, and learning contents were organized so that the competencies of the five areas presented by UNESCO could be integrally reflected in the educational content.

본 연구는 초등학생들의 디지털 시민성을 길러줄 수 있는 데이터 과학 교육 프로그램의 설계를 목적으로 한 다. 디지털 기술의 발전은 인간의 사고와 의사결정 방식에 변화를 가져왔으며 이는 곧 디지털 사회로의 대전환 이라는 결과를 가져왔다. 끊임없이 변화하는 디지털 사회 속에서 학생들에게 필요한 것은 바로 디지털 리터러시 와 윤리의식을 기반으로 하는 디지털 시민성의 함양이라 할 수 있다. 이를 위해 초등학교 학습자를 대상으로 총 14차시의 교육 프로그램을 설계하였으며 UNESCO에서 제시한 디지털 시민성 영역과 역량들이 교육 내용에 통 합적으로 반영될 수 있도록 학습 내용을 구성하였다.
