This study describes a case of fiction engineering class linked to reading education for 4th grade elementary school students. Novel Engineering is an innovative class method that develops engineering problem-solving skills by using literary work for students. Students have a deeper understanding of literary activities, and can't help their interest and participation in reading. In class, students exercise their shyness and problem-solving skills to observe the scientific method of using peace activities as components. Could. In this study, Novel Engineering class linked with reading education is presented as an educational method by simultaneously forming students' reading habits and improving book comprehension, and aims to help students realize the value of reading and develop problem solving skills together.

본 연구는 초등학교 4학년을 대상으로 독서교육과 연계한 Novel engineering 수업사례를 기술한다. Novel Engineering은 학생들에게 문학 작품을 활용하여 공학적 문제 해결 능력을 키우는 혁신적인 수업 방법으로, Novel Engineering을 통해 문학 작품을 다양한 관점에서 해석하고 문제 해결에 적용하는 기회를 갖도록 수업을 설계하였다. 학생들은 문학 작품을 더 깊이 이해하고 독서에 대한 흥미와 참여도를 높일 수 있었으며, 수업에서 학생들은 자신의 창의적 사고와 문제 해결 능력을 발휘하여 공학적인 방법으로 문학 작품을 구성 요소로 활용하 는 것을 관찰할 수 있었다. 본 연구에서는 독서교육과 연계한 Novel Engineering 수업은 학생들의 독서 습관 형 성과 문학 이해력 향상을 동시에 이루어내는 유익한 교육 방법으로 제시하며, 학생들이 독서의 가치를 깨닫고 창의적 사고와 문제 해결 능력을 함께 발전시키는 것을 목표로 수업을 진행하였다.
