This study introduced classes converging with other subjects, focusing on the Korean language subject, and applied Novel Engineering to fifth graders in elementary school. In order to cultivate creative convergence talents, which is the core goal of the 2015 revised curriculum, Novel Engineering was used to design classes to improve students' reading motivation, problem-solving, and creativity. Students participated in the class with a deeper story immersion and concentration than the existing reading class, and showed free and creative thinking in the process of identifying and solving problems in the story. This study proposed Novel Engineering as an active reading education method and aimed at project classes to increase students' story immersion and open thinking.

이 연구는 초등학교 5학년을 대상으로, 국어 교과를 중심으로 다른 교과목과 융합한 수업을 소개하며, Novel Engineering을 적용하였다. 2015 개정 교육과정의 핵심 목표인 창의적 융합형 인재를 양성하기 위해 Novel Engineering을 활용하여 학생들의 읽기 동기, 문제 해결력 및 창의력을 향상시키는 수업을 설계하였다. 학생들은 기존의 독서 수업보다 더 깊은 이야기 몰입도와 집중력으로 수업에 참여하며, 이야기 속에서 문제를 파악하고 해결하는 과정에서 자유롭고 창의적인 사고를 발휘하였다. 본 연구는 Novel Engineering을 적극적인 독서 교육 방법으로 제안하고, 학생들의 이야기 몰입도와 개방적 사고를 증진시키는 프로젝트 수업을 목표로 하였다.
