This study uses Novel Engineering to describe class cases in which third graders of elementary school are fused with reading members of the Korean language subject. In order to foster creative convergence talent, the goal of the 2015 revised curriculum, classes that enhance students' reading motivation, problem-solving skills, and creativity were designed through Novel Engineering. Students participated in the class based on deeper immersion and concentration in the story than in the existing reading class, and it was observed that they developed free and creative thinking in the process of identifying and solving problems in the story. In this study, Novel Engineering was presented as a method of active reading education, and project classes were conducted with the aim of improving students' story immersion and open thinking.

본 연구는 Novel Engineering을 활용하여 초등학교 3학년을 대상으로 국어교과의 독서 단원과 융합한 수업사 례를 기술한다. 2015 개정 교육과정의 목표인 창의융합형 인재 양성을 위하여 Novel Engineering을 통해 학생들 의 읽기 동기와 문제 해결력 및 창의력을 높이는 수업을 설계하였다. 학생들은 기존의 독서 수업보다 이야기에 대한 깊은 몰입도와 집중도를 바탕으로 수업에 참여하였으며, 이야기 속에서 문제를 파악하고 해결해 나가는 과 정속에서 자유롭고 창의적인 사고를 키워나가는 것을 관찰할 수 있었다. 본 연구에서는 Novel Engineering을 적 극적인 독서 교육의 한 방법으로 제시하며 학생들의 이야기 몰입도 및 개방적 사고를 향상시키는 것을 목표로 프로젝트 수업을 진행하였다.
