This study examines the current state of and societal response to sexual crimes involving deepfake technology, with a particular focus on AI-generated synthetic media that violate an individual's right to sexual self-determination without consent. Unlike traditional illegal filming or revenge pornography, deepfake sexual crimes represent an emerging form of digital sexual violence that exploits the manipulation of facial and bodily images. To explore this phenomenon, 804 articles related to deepfake sexual crimes were collected and qualitatively analyzed from six major South Korean newspapers between August and September 2024. The analysis reveals a high proportion of juvenile perpetrators and a widening demographic of victims-including students, teachers, and non-celebrities-as well as recurring misinterpretations of the issue through gender conflict frames in public discourse. This study highlights the urgent need for multidimensional policy, educational, and technological responses, including ethical AI regulation, increased platform accountability, and the reconstruction of victim-centered narratives in the media.

본 연구는 딥페이크 기술의 오남용으로 발생하는 성범죄, 특히 영상 기반 합성 성범죄의 실태와 사회 적 대응 양상을 분석하고자 하였다. 딥페이크 성범죄는 기존의 불법촬영물이나 리벤지 포르노와는 달리, 피해자 동의 없이 생성된 허위 영상물을 통해 개인의 성적 자기결정권과 인권을 심각하게 침해한다는 점에서 새로운 유형의 디지털 성범죄로 주목받고 있다. 본 연구는 2024년 8월부터 9월까지 국내 주요 일간지 6곳의 딥페이크 성범죄 관련 기사 804건을 수집·분석하여 가해자 및 피해자 특성, 사회적 인식, 입법 동향 등을 질적으로 고찰하였다. 분석 결과, 딥페이크 성범죄는 청소년 가해자 비율이 높고, 피해자 는 동료 학생, 교사, 일반인 등으로 확대되고 있으며, 피해 인식과 대응 방식에도 젠더 갈등 프레임이 개입되는 양상이 확인되었다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 딥페이크 성범죄에 대한 다층적인 정책·교육·기술 적 대응의 필요성을 제언하고, 특히 윤리적 AI 사용과 플랫폼 책임 강화, 피해자 보호 중심의 사회적 담론 구조 전환을 강조한다.
