This study serves as a foundational investigation for designing AI and digital education curricula in teacher training institutions. It aims to assess prospective teachers’ competency levels in AI and digital technologies and to identify their educational needs. A questionnaire was administered using a competency assessment tool composed of 20 behavioral indicators across nine competencies and three domains: AI and digital basics, instructional implementation, and professional engagement. Data from 215 pre-service teachers were analyzed using paired-sample t-tests, the Borich needs assessment model, and the Locus for Focus model. The highest needs were found in competencies related to the use of AI and digital tools, and in the evaluation and reflection on teaching practices using these technologies. Moderate needs were also identified in instructional design, educational context analysis, self-development, and civic engagement. These findings provide a foundation for developing teacher education programs that cultivate AI and digital competencies among pre-service teachers.

본 연구는 교원양성기관의 AI·디지털 교육과정 설계를 위한 기초연구로, 예비교원의 AI·디지털 역량 수준을 측 정하고 교육요구도를 확인하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 이를 위해 ‘AI·디지털 기본’, ‘AI·디지털 교육 실행’, ‘전문 적 참여’의 세 가지 영역과 9가지 역량에 대한 행동지표 20문항으로 구성된 AI·디지털 역량 측정 도구로 설문을 실시했으며, 대응표본 t검정, Borich 교육요구도, The Locus for Focus 모델을 활용해 총 215명의 응답에서 교육요 구도를 분석하였다. 예비교원의 교육요구도는 AI·디지털 기술을 활용하는 역량과 AI·디지털 기술을 활용해 교육을 평가하고 성찰하는 역량에서 교육요구도가 가장 높았고, AI·디지털 기술을 활용한 교수학습 설계와 교육맥락 분석, 자기계발 및 사회 참여 역량이 차선으로 고려되어야 함을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 예비교원들의 AI·디지털 교육에 대한 요구를 분석하고, AI·디지털 역량을 함양한 교원 양성 교육프로그램 개발의 기초를 마련하였다는 점에서 의 의가 있다.
