Purpose of the Study: The purpose of this study is to explore educational understanding and alternative tasks of family worship for the Presbyterian Church of Korea in the view of educational ministry. Research Content and Methods: In order to achieve the purpose of the study, this study examined biblical, historical, liturgical, and educational understandings of family worship and identified that family worship is a family rite that has educational characteristics of faith-forming, faith-transmitting, family-participating, family-church-connected, and community-transforming. Next, based on the educational characteristics of family worship, this study analyzed denominational official literature about family worship of the Presbyterian Church of Korea and suggested alternative educational tasks of family worship. Conclusions and Recommendations: This study explored educational understanding and alternative tasks of family worship for the Presbyterian Church of Korea in the view of educational ministry. As a result, it was found that the current practices of family worship does not fully implement the educational characteristics of family worship identified. Therefore, in order to both enhance the characteristics of family worship and to help the Korean church practice family worship more appropriately, the Korean church is called upon to follow three educational practices such as 1) educating congregations about family worship rooted in the sound and robust biblical, historical, liturgical, and educational foundation, 2) providing the various models of family worship models and resources considering congregations’different family types, ages, faith levels, and life-cycle, and 3) expanding the contents and scope of prayer, praise, and the Word in family worship from a self-orientated, family-based perspective to God’s kingdom perspective.

연구 목적 : 본 연구는 가정예배의 교육학적 이해과 실천을 비판적으로 분석하여 한국 장로교회가 실천해야 할 대안적인 가정예배에 관한 교육목회적 실천을 탐색하고자 한다. 연구내용 및 방법 : 본 연구에서는 가정예배가 무엇인지를 고찰하기 위해 성서적, 역사적, 예전적, 교육학적 이해를 살펴보았으며, 이를 통하여 가정예배가 신앙-형성적이며, 신앙-전수적이고, 가족-참여적이며, 가정-교회 연계적이고, 공동체-변혁적인 의례임을 발견하게 되었다. 본 연구는 이러한 가정예배의 교육적 특징을 기준으로 한국 장로교(예장통합) 교단자료들인 『가정예배 I~IV』와 『표준 가정예식서: 가정기도회 안내서』와 『목회매뉴얼: 가정목회』을 비판적으로 분석함으로 한국 장로교 가정예배의 실천을 고찰하였고, 한국교회가 앞으로 실천해야 할 대안적인 가정예배에 관한 교육목회적 실천을 제시하였다. 결론 및 제언 : 본 연구는 가정예배의 기독교교육적 이해와 실천을 비판적으로 분석하여 한국 장로교가 실천해야 할 대안적인 가정예배에 관한 교육목회적 실천을 탐색하였다. 연구를 통하여 발견한 한국교회 가정예배의 현장은 가정예배의 교육적 특징을 온전히 반영하지 못하고 있음을 확인하였다. 이에 본 연구는 한국교회가 가정예배의 교육적 특징을 보다 온전히 실현하기 위해서 세 가지 교육목회적 실천과제를 요청받고 있음을 발견하였다. 첫째, 교회는 회중들에게 가정예배에 대한 성서적, 교회사적, 예전적, 교육적 의미에 대하여 교육해야하며, 둘째, 교회는 회중들의 가정형태별, 연령별, 신앙수준별, 생애주기별 상황을 고려한 다양한 가정예배 모델과 자료들을 개발하고 제공해야 하고, 셋째, 한국교회는 가정예배에서 참여하는 기도와 찬양과 말씀의 내용과 범위를 가족중심적인 관점으로부터 하나님 나라적 관점으로 보다 통전적으로 확장하여 실천해야 한다.
