This study explores the integration of generative AI in the fusion of music and visual art through the analysis of audience responses. Centered on Claude Debussy’s ≪L’Isle Joyeuse≫(1904), the research translates the musical content into descriptive text, which is then processed by the image-generating AI model MidJourney to produce 52 related visual outputs. The iterative process of editing these images revealed a mutual interaction between musical interpretation and visual generation. This qualitative case study collected responses from eight participants after presenting them with the completed audio-visual materials. Using Python libraries such as Pandas and Matplotlib, along with the KNU Korean sentiment lexicon, the study conducted sentiment analysis and visualization based on the audience’s textual feedback. The findings suggest that the fusion of technology with classical music and visual art can enhance accessibility and engagement with Western classical music. This research highlights the emerging potential of AI-driven convergence in the arts and suggests meaningful directions for its future application in education and public dissemination.

본 연구는 음악과 미술의 융합 과정에서 생성형 인공지능을 활용한 사 례와 이에 대한 감상자 반응을 분석하였다. 프랑스 인상주의 작곡가 드뷔 시(Claude Debussy, 1862-1918)의 《기쁨의 섬≫(L'Isle Joyeuse, 1904) 을 음악·미술의 융합 관점에서 분석하고, 이를 시각화가 가능한 형태로 텍스트화한 후, 이미지 생성형 인공지능 모델 ‘미드저니’(MidJourney)에 입력하였다. 이러한 음악-텍스트-이미지 연계방식을 통해 총 52개의 관 련 이미지가 생성되었으며, 이를 수정하고 보완하는 작업의 전 과정에서 이미지 생성과 음악 연주는 상호적으로 작용하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구는 드뷔시의 단일 작품을 중심으로 한 사례 기반 소규모 질적 연 구로, 완성된 결과물을 8명의 감상자에게 제시하고 반응을 수집하였다. 이후 파이썬(Python)의 판다스(Pandas), 매트플롯립(Matplotlib) 라이브러 리와 KNU한국어 감성분석도구를 사용하여 감성 분석 및 시각화를 수행하 였다. 연구 결과, 기술을 활용한 음악과 미술의 융합이 서양 음악의 대중 적 접근성을 높이는 데 긍정적인 역할을 할 수 있음이 밝혀졌으며, 예술 분야에서의 인공지능 융합 연구의 새로운 가능성을 제시하였다. 앞으로 이러한 융합 연구가 활성화되어 클래식 음악의 대중적 확산과 교육적 실 천에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
