The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) has established it as a transformative tool in artistic creation. AI image generation models, such as Midjourney, can produce high-quality images from simple text inputs, revolutionizing the creative process. However, prior studies have largely overlooked methods for generating images with human-inspired characteristics. This study adopts a combined approach of netnography and experimental analysis to investigate how prompt combinations, style reference, and moodboard features on the Midjourney platform influence the creation of human-inspired imagery. The interplay between prompt configurations and model versions shapes the direction of image style generation, leading to diverse visual expressions. The style reference function enhances artistic expressiveness by incorporating a specific reference image, resulting in images that more closely align with human-inspired characteristics. Similarly, the moodboard function integrates multiple reference images, influencing both emotional expression and stylistic coherence, thereby contributing to the nuanced development of human-inspired imagery. These functions—prompt combinations, style reference, and moodboard—serve as visual control mechanisms in the AI image generation process, forming a systematic framework for creating human-inspired imagery. This framework provides a novel theoretical perspective on the controllability of AI-generated art. It enables creators to produce refined images that align with human aesthetic sensibilities and emotional needs, advancing the potential for AI to support human-centered creative expression.

인공지능(AI)의 급속한 발전은 예술 창작에서 AI를 중요한 도구로 자리 매김하게 했다. 미드저니(Midjourney)와 같은 AI 그림 모델은 간단한 텍스 트 입력만으로 고품질 이미지를 생성할 수 있다. 컴퓨터의 기술 예술 창 작 방식에 변화는 다양하게 이루어지고 있다. 예술과 기술을 접목시키는 기계적 상황은 ‘인간적 접근 방식(human-centered approach)’ 특성을 지 닌 이미지 생성 방식에 대한 논의가 부족한 측면이 존재해 왔다. 미드저 니 플랫폼에서 이루어지는 프롬프트 조합, 스타일 참조 기능(sref：Style References), 무드보드(Moodboard) 기능은 ‘인간적 접근 방식’ 이미지 생 성의 주요 요소로 작용할 수 있다는 가능성을 보여준다. 본 연구는 넷노 그래피와 실험 분석을 병행하여 미드저니의 이러한 기능이 ‘인간적 접근 방식’ 이미지 생성에 어떻게 영향을 미치는지를 탐구한다. 첫째, 프롬프트 조합과 모델 버전 간의 적합성 여부를 살핀다. 서로 다 른 프롬프트 구성은 시각적 표현 양식에 차이를 가져온다. 결과론적으로 이미지 스타일 생성에 영향을 주게 된다. 둘째, 스타일 참조 기능(sref)은 ‘인간적 접근 방식’ 특성을 강화한다. 미드저니에서 특정 스타일 이미지를 입력하면 생성 이미지의 예술적 표현력이 향상되는 경향이 나타난다. 셋 째, 무드보드 기능은 다중 이미지를 시각적으로 결합하여 감정 표현과 스 타일 융합에 영향을 준다. 프롬프트 조합, 스타일 참조 기능(sref), 무드보드 기능은 AI 이미지 생 성 과정에서 활용 가능한 시각적 제어 요소로 작용하며, ‘인간적 접근 방 식’이미지를 생성하기 위한 체계적인 프레임워크 구축에 기여한다. 또한 이 세가지 구성은 AI 예술 창작의 제어 가능성에 대한 새로운 이론적 관 점을 제시한다. 그 결과 도출된 정교한 이미지 생성 방식은 인간의 미적 감각과 감정적 요구를 충족하게 된다.
