This study explores strategies for utilizing Ahn Jae-hong (1891–1965), a historical figure from Pyeongtaek-si, as a local cultural content. Despite its designation as an integrated urban-rural city in 1995, Pyeongtaek-si still lacks a unified civic identity, iconic landmarks, and tourist infrastructure. Through a literature review and case analysis, this study examines the city's cultural resources and highlights Ahn’s multifaceted identity—as an independence activist, journalist, historian, and politician—and his cultural significance. The findings identify three core values: his role as a multilayered content source, the ideological relevance of his “New Nationalism” and “Dasari” philosophies, and his function as a bridge between local and national narratives. Based on these insights, the study proposes strategies in three areas: (1) digital content development (e.g., archives, storytelling platforms, social networking services [SNS] ), (2) immersive experiences (e.g., AR／VR content, location-based tours), and (3) integrated cultural programs (e.g., arts events, educational content). This study applied OSMU and MSMU strategies to maximize content diversity and reach. Academically, this research expands the discourse on regional cultural content through the reexamination of a lesser-known historical figure. Practically, it offers actionable strategies for city branding, cultural tourism revitalization, and community cohesion in Pyeongtaek-si.

본 연구는 평택 출신 역사인물 안재홍(1891~1965)을 지역 문화콘텐츠로 활용하는 방안을 모색하는 데 목적이 있다. 평택시는 1995년 도농복합형태의 통합 도시로 출범했으나, 30년이 지난 현재까지도 시민들의 통합된 정체성 형성이 미흡하며 도시를 대표할 랜드마크와 관광자원이 부족한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 문헌연구와 사례분석을 통해 평택의 문화자원 현황을 분석하고, 독립운동가이자 언론인・역사학자・정치가로서 다면적 정체성을 지닌 안재홍의 문화적 가치를 조명하였다. 연구 결과, 안재홍은 다층적 정체성을 지닌 콘텐츠 소스로써의 가치, ‘신민족주의'와 ‘다사리'라는 철학적 자산을 남긴 사상가로서의 가치, ‘로컬’과 ‘내셔널’을 연결하는 문화적 가치를 지닌 인물임을 확인하였다. 이를 바탕으로 디지털 기반 콘텐츠 개발(디지털 아카이브 구축, 모바일 스토리 텔링 플랫폼, SNS 연계 콘텐츠), 실감형 체험 콘텐츠(AR／VR 기술 활용, 위치기 반 디지털 투어), 융합형 문화프로그램(문화예술 프로그램, 정기 문화행사, 교육 프로그램 개발) 등 세 가지 차원의 활용방안을 제시하였다. 특히 OSMU와 MSMU 전략을 병행 적용함으로써 콘텐츠의 다각화와 확장 가능성을 확보하고자 하였다. 학술적으로는 상대적으로 인지도가 부족한 역사인물을 재조명하여 지역문화콘텐 츠 연구의 영역을 확장하고, 평택의 정체성 형성 과제를 다루었다는 점에 있으며, 실용적으로는 평택의 도시 브랜딩 강화, 문화관광 활성화, 지역 공동체 결속 증진 을 위한 구현 가능한 전략을 제공했다는 점에서 본 연구의 의의를 찾을 수 있다.
