This study aims to examine the phenomenon of 'unilateral choices' as a form of immoral behavior in digital games, specifically in team-based online competitive games, and to analyze the factors influencing this behavior. Unilateral choices refer to decisions made independently, without consultation with teammates or disregard for the strategic context of the game. This research explores the role of psychological variables such as reward value perception, game self-efficacy, and gaming motivation in influencing unilateral choices. The analysis reveals significant relationships between competitive motivation, fantasy motivation, and game self-efficacy with unilateral choices. In particular, competitive motivation was found to be a key factor in promoting unilateral choices, while intrinsic motivations focusing on fun and leisure were negatively correlated. Study limitations were noted, and future research directions suggested.

본 연구는 디지털 게임, 특히 팀 기반 온라인 경쟁 게임에서 나타나는 비도덕적 행동 중 '독단적 선택'(소위 ‘트롤 픽’) 현상을 규명하고 이에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 독단적 선택이란 게임의 맥락과 전략적 이점 고려, 그리고 동료와의 의사소통 없이 일방적 그리고 의도적으로 경기에 영향을 미치는 중대한 선택을 강행해 사회적 긴장을 유발하는 행동을 의미한다. 독단적 선택은 타인을 도발하거나 지배력을 행사하기 위해 이뤄질 때, 욕설과 같은 파괴적 게임 행동의 일환으로 간주될 수 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 이에 본 연구는 독단적 선택 현상 에 대한 개념적 탐색과 더불어 선행연구를 통해 보상 가치 인식, 게임 효능감, 게임 동기 등과 같은 요인들의 영향력 을 파악하고자 하였다. 리그 오브 레전드 이용자를 대상으로 한 설문 데이터를 바탕으로 다중회귀분석을 실시한 결 과, 경쟁 동기와 환상 동기는 독단적 선택과 정적 관련이 있었으나 재미 동기는 부적 관련이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이후 연구 한계점과 추후 연구를 제안하였다.
