This study examines research trends on Korean discriminatory language published between 2021 and 2025 and compares them with preceding studies from 2006 to 2020 to explore recent discourses and future research directions. The concept and scope of discriminatory language are first defined, focusing on various subcategories such as gender, disability, age, and regional biases. Notably, a significant shift has been observed toward mixed-method approaches, incorporating quantitative techniques (e.g., text mining) and qualitative methodologies (e.g., critical discourse analysis), particularly in analyzing hate speech in online contexts. Moreover, there has been a growing number of practical proposals in public language policy and Korean language education, reflecting a heightened perception of discrimination as a social and structural issue. Compared to the earlier period, recent studies reveal a diversification of topics, methodological expansion, and increased interdisciplinary collaboration. These findings suggest that current research on discriminatory language extends beyond mere normative correction to a deeper analysis of social conflict and power dynamics. Future directions are likely to encompass intersectional approaches, AI-based hate speech detection, and strengthened connections with legal and policy frameworks.

본 연구는 2021~2025년에 발표된 국어 차별어 관련 연구를 분석하고, 이를 2006~2020년의 선행 연구와 비교하여 최근 담론 변화와 향후 과제를 살폈다. 먼저 차별어의 개념과 범위를 정의하고 성․장애․연 령․지역 등 다양한 차별 유형에서 이루어진 연구 동향을 검토하였다. 검토 결과 온라인에서 나타나는 혐오표현의 확산과 더불어, 텍스트 마이 닝 및 비판적 담화분석 등 양적․질적 방법이 병행되는 점이 두드러졌다. 또한 공공언어 정책과 국어교육 영역에서의 실천적 제언이 활발해지면 서, 차별어가 사회구조적 문제라는 인식이 강화된 모습도 확인하였다. 이전 시기 대비 연구 주제와 방법론이 다변화되고 학제 간 협력이 확대된 결과, 차별어 연구가 단순 교정 수준을 넘어 사회적 갈등과 권력관계의 맥락에서 분석되는 추세로 발전하고 있음을 보여준다. 이러한 변화는 향 후 교차적 차별 연구, AI 기반 혐오표현 감지, 법․정책적 연계 등을 통해 더욱 심화․확대될 것으로 전망된다.
