Recently, there has been an increase in single-person households and an aging population, accompanied by a rise in households raising pets. Consequently, related industries such as animal hospitals and pet supplies are continuously growing. The primary concerns of pet owners in Korea are the upbringing of their pets and health management). As the number of households welcoming pets increases, the veterinary medical industry is steadily growing. This study examines the inconveniences faced by pet owners in veterinary medical services and identifies the following issues. First, a lack of pet information due to owner-centered record management. Second, inconvenience in the communication of information within the EMR system, and Third, the risk of personal data leakage for owners concerning the information on the EMR. As a solution to these issues, this study proposes the VetBlock solution using blockchain technology. The VetBlock platform is designed to manage the registration of pet IDs and the creation and distribution of pet medical data based on blockchain technology. It focuses on separating the data of owners and pets and building and managing pet-centered medical data. Additionally, the personal information of owners is encrypted, allowing only pet data to be exchanged, thus enhancing the efficiency of information management and sharing. Results from the acceptance check of VetBlock revealed a demand not only for pet medical data but also for life cycle data, indicating that pet owners showed a willingness to actively participate in providing pet information. Based on the findings of this study, it is anticipated that further research will continue to establish directions for improving pet medical data services.

최근 1인 가족 증가 및 고령화 추세와 더불어 반려동물 사육 가구가 증가하고 있고, 동물병원, 사료 용품 등 관련 산업이 지속적으로 성장하고 있다. 국내 반려인 들의 가장 큰 관심사는 반려 동물의 양육 및 건강 관리인 것으로 나타났다. 반려동물을 맞이하는 가구 수의 증가로 반려동물 의료산업이 꾸준히 성장하고 있다. 본 연구는 반려동물 의료서비스에서 보호자들의 불편요소를 점검하여 첫째, 보호자중심 이력관리로 반려동물 정보부족 둘째, EMR 시스템 정보 전달의 불편성 존재 셋째, EMR 상 정보의 보호자 개인정보 유출 위험을 해결해야 할 문제로 설정하였다. 본 연구는 이를 위해 블록체인 기술을 활용한 벳블럭 솔루션을 설계하였다. 본 연구에서 제안하는 벳블럭은 블록체인을 기반으로 펫 아이디 등록증을 구성하고 이를 기반으로 반려동물 의료 데이터의 생성과 유통을 관리하는 플랫폼으로 구 성되어 있다. 이는 블록체인 기술을 통해 보호자와 반려동물의 데이터를 분리하고 반려동물 중심의 의료데이터를 구축, 관리하는 것에 중점을 둔 것이 특징이다. 또한, 보호자의 개인정보는 암호화하고 반려동물 데이터만 교류할 수 있도록 설계하여 정보 관리와 공유의 효율성을 높이는 데 중점을 두었다. 벳블럭에 대한 수용 성 점검 결과, 반려동물의 의료 데이터 뿐아니라 생애주기 데이터에 대한 수요를 확인할 수 있었으며, 이를 위해 반려동물의 정보 제공에 적극적으로 참여할 의사 를 보이고 있었다. 본 연구 결과를 토대로 향후 반려동물 의료데이터 서비스 개선 방향성 수립과 실제 상용화를 위해 보다 다양한 연구가 지속되길 기대한다.
