The purpose of this study is to investigate how an artist's self-concealment influences the curiosity of exhibition visitors and to examine their attitudes towards an art account by applying curiosity theory. Additionally, based on Construal Level Theory, the study explores the impact of psychological distance between the user and the artist on curiosity and tests the moderating effect of psychological distance. The experimental results show that visitors have a more positive attitude towards an art account where the artist’s self-concealment is present (i.e., without the artist's photo) than towards an account with the artist's photo. Specifically, curiosity mediated by the artist's self-concealment had a positive effect on the visitor's attitude towards the art account. However, the testing of psychological distance and its moderating effect revealed that the positive influence of self-concealment on the art account was not unconditional. Individuals with closer psychological distance exhibited a weaker curiosity effect under self-concealment conditions and showed a more positive attitude towards accounts featuring the artist's photo. Based on these findings, the study suggests that artists should strategically manage their art accounts, taking into consideration the psychological characteristics of the appropriate visitors.

본 연구의 목적은 작가의 자기 은폐가 매개변수인 관람자의 호기심에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 알아보고, 호기심 이론을 적용하여 관람자의 작품 계정에 대한 태도 를 확인하는 데 있다. 또 해석수준이론을 바탕으로 사용자가 작가와의 심리적 거리에 따라 호기심에 미치는 영향을 알아보고 심리적 거리의 조절 효과를 검증하고 자 한다. 실험 연구 결과, 사람은 작가 사진이 있는 계정보다 작가가 은폐되어 있는, 즉 작가의 사진이 없는 계정에 대해 더 긍정적인 태도를 지닌다. 구체적으로, 작가의 자기 은폐에 따른 호기심이 매개하여 관람자의 작품 계정에 대한 태도에 긍정적인 영향을 주었다. 한편, 실험을 통해 심리적 거리의 영향 및 조절 효과를 검 는증한 결과, 작가의 자기 은폐가 작품 계정에 대해 지니는 긍정적 영향력은 무조건적이지 않았다. 심리적으로 가까운 거리를 지닌 사람일수록 작가 은폐의 조건에 서 호기심 효과가 약화되며 작가 은폐 계정보다 작가 자신의 사진이 있는 계정에 대해 더 긍정적인 태도를 보였다. 이와 같은 연구 결과에 따라, 인스타그램 사용자 의 작품 계정 관람 심리를 파악하여 작가가 적합한 관람자에게 작품 계정 운영 전략으로 활용할 것을 제안하였다.
