The purpose of this study is to examine Lee In-pyo's basketball life history after retirement using an in-depth interview method. The following conclusions were reached. First, he served as the assistant coach of the national team and the founding coach of the Samsung men's and women's basketball team. Second, he was the first member of the national team to serve as the first general manager of the Samsung Thunder and Gold Bank, contributing to the professionalization of basketball. Third, he contributed to revitalizing domestic basketball as a founding member of the Jumbo Series at the Basketball Festival. Fourth, he served as a member of the Professional Basketball Promotion Committee and led the professionalization of Korean basketball. Lastly, he served as the chairman of the KBL Family and as the chairman of the Basketball Love Scholarship Association, and he is practicing basketball love by giving scholarships to young basketball dreamers.

이 연구는 심층면담 방법을 사용한 질적 연구로서 한국농구의 원조 돌파의 달인, 이인표의 농구 인생사 중 선수은퇴 이후의 농구 활동을 중 심으로 살펴보고, 우리나라 농구 발전사에 어떠한 의의와 가치가 있는지 를 규명하는 데 목적이 있다. 이에 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, 지 도자의 길은 국가대표 코치를 시작으로 국가대표 감독, 삼성 남녀농구단 창단 감독 및 총감독 등을 역임하였다. 특히 삼성 남녀농구단 창단에 주 도적인 역할을 하였다. 둘째, 국가대표 농구선수 출신 처음으로 삼성 썬 더스와 골드뱅크 초대단장을 역임하며 농구 프로화의 초석을 다졌다. 셋 째, 농구대잔치 점보시리즈 창설위원으로 협회의 재정 안정화와 국내 농 구 활성화에 이바지했다. 넷째, 농구 프로화 추진 5인방 중 한 사람으로 서 많은 어려움이 있었지만, 한국농구연맹(KBL) 창립위원 등을 역임하며 한국농구 프로화를 이끌었다. 마지막으로 KBL 패밀리 회장을 역임하고, 현재 농구사랑 장학회 회장으로 활동하는 등 농구인의 화합과 어린 농 구 꿈나무에게 장학금을 주는 등 농구 사랑을 실천하고 있다.
