Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture is located in the eastern part of Jilin Province. It is the intersection of the three centers of economic, population and geography in Northeast Asia. It has a special geographical location, ethnic composition and international environment. With the continuous advancement of China 's economic development and urbanization, a large number of population migration has led to the problem of hollowing out in the border areas of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, which has adversely affected its development and brought risks and challenges to the security of the border areas. Therefore, this paper takes the border area of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture as the research area. Based on the social and economic statistical data and remote sensing monitoring data and the field investigation of the area, this paper fully understands and grasps the current situation of the hollowing out of the area, analyzes its causes and effects, and puts forward the countermeasures to control the hollowing out of the border area, in order to alleviate and inhibit the further deepening of the hollowing out phenomenon in the area and promote its sustainable development.

연변 조선족 자치주는 길림성 동부에 위치해 있으며 동북아 지역의 경제, 인구, 지리 세 중심이 교차하는 지점으로 특별한 지리적 위치, 민족 구성 및 국제 환경을 가지고 있다. 우리나라의 경제 발전과 도시화가 지속적으로 진행되면서 대량의 인구 이동으로 인해 연변 조선족 자치주의 국경 지역에 허공화 문제가 발생하여 그 발전에 불리한 영향을 미치고 국경 지역의 안전에도 위험과 도전을 가져왔다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 연변 조선족 자치주의 국경 지역을 연구 대상으로 하여 사회 경제 통계 자료와 원격 감지 모니터링 자료 및 해당 지역에 대한 실지 조사를 바탕으로 해당 지역의 허공화 현황을 충분히 이해하고 파악하여 그 원인과 영향을 분석하고 국경 지역의 허공화를 치료하는 대책을 제시하여 해당 지역의 허공화 현상을 완화하고 억제하여 지속 가능한 발전을 촉진하고자 한다.
