This article examines the route through which the Donghak Peasant Army entered the Uihung region of Gyeongsang Province and reveals the reasons why the people of Uihung joined the Donghak Peasant army. Additionally, it analyzes the activities carried out by the Donghak Peasant Army in the Uihung region and organizes the actions of Shin Seok-chan, who sought to suppress the Donghak Peasant army, in chronological order. Through this, it illuminates the appearance of Donghak Peasant Army not only in the Uiheung area, but also in Chilgok and Gunwi, the surrounding areas. On August 17, 1894, the Donghak Peasant Army in the Uiheung area moved to Yecheon-Bian-Uiseong-Uiheung. The Donghak Peasant Army, which went to Bian through Yecheon, moved to Uiheung through Uiseong.
