This study examines the real-life challenges faced by two Thai marriage migrant women in South Korea who, despite marrying Korean men and giving birth, were forced into illegal stay due to their husbands' malicious abandonment, emotional abuse, confinement, and economic exploitation. The research specifically highlights the practical difficulties they encounter after leaving their husbands' homes. For marriage migrant women, securing stable residency status is the most critical issue. When they leave an abusive household and seek shelter while preparing for divorce, their residency status may not be maintained. Losing legal stay means they cannot use smartphones, effectively barring them from all internet-based authentication services in South Korea. As a result, finding a job becomes highly restricted, and they are forced to conduct all financial transactions in cash, exposing them to various risks. From a humanitarian perspective, South Korean laws should be revised to allow residency for migrant women who have married and given birth in the country.

본 연구에서는 한국인 남성과 혼인을 하고 출산을 했음에도 불구하고 한국인 남편의 악의 적인 유기, 인격적 모독, 감금, 경제적 학대를 한꺼번에 경험하며 어쩔 수 없이 가출하여 불법체류 상태 로 생활하는 두 태국인 이주여성들이, 가출하여 직면하게 된 현실적인 문제가 무엇인지 구체적으로 소 개한 연구이다. 결혼이주여성에게 가장 중요한 과제는 안정적인 체류였다. 결혼이주여성이 가정폭력을 당해 남편의 집에서 나와 쉼터에서 이혼을 준비할 때 체류 자격이 유지되지 못하면, 그들은 스마트폰을 사용할 수 없게 된다. 한국에서 이동통신을 사용할 수 없게 되는 것은 인터넷 기반의 인증을 필요로 하는 모든 서 비스에서 배제가 되는 것이다. 이렇게 되면, 일자리를 찾는데 제한을 받게 되고, 금융 및 경제생활은 모 두 현금으로 해야 하는 위험한 상황에 놓이게 되는 것이다. 최소한 한국에서 혼인하고, 출산을 한 이주여성들에게는 인도적인 차원에서 체류를 허용하는 쪽으로 법 제도가 개선이 되어야 할 것이다.
