This study empirically examined the educational effectiveness of preaching in an actual worship service as part of preaching practicum, comparing it with classroom preaching to identify its distinct pedagogical impact. To achieve this, a survey was conducted with 65 students enrolled in the preaching practicum. Descriptive statistical analysis and paired sample t-tests were used to compare the two preaching environments. Additionally, open-ended questions were included to gain deeper insights into the strengths and weaknesses of preaching in a real congregational worship setting. The results revealed that preaching in an actual worship service received significantly higher ratings than classroom preaching across all aspects, including sermon preparation, delivery, listening, and feedback. In terms of overall satisfaction, students rated worship service preaching superior in sermon experience, skill development, spiritual growth, and the sermon preparation and delivery process. Open-ended responses also affirmed the positive educational impact of preaching in a worship setting. However, several limitations were identified, including LE (Limited Opportunities and Environment), EF (Evaluation and Feedback Deficiency), and IS (Institutional Support Deficiency). Based on these findings, this study proposes five key strategies for enhancing the effectiveness of preaching practicum: (1) expanding the use of actual worship service preaching, (2) strengthening cooperation between theological seminaries and churches, (3) implementing methods to simulate worship service preaching in the classroom, (4) incorporating targeted sermon practice for diverse audiences, and (5) emphasizing the spiritual formation of preachers. This study empirically validates the educational effectiveness of preaching in a real worship service, which has not been previously examined, and provides foundational data for improving preaching practicum in theological education.

본 연구는 설교 실습에서 예배 현장 설교의 교육적 효과를 탐구하고, 강의실 설교와 비교하여 그 차별적 효과를 분석하는 경험적 연구를 수 행하였다. 이를 위해 설교 실습을 수강한 학생 중 65명을 대상으로 설 문 조사를 실시하였으며, 기술 통계 분석과 대응표본 T-검정을 활용하 여 두 환경에서의 설교 실습 차이를 비교하였다. 또한, 설교 실습에서 예배 현장 설교 활용의 장단점을 보다 심층적으로 분석하기 위해 개방 형 질문을 포함하여 학생들의 의견을 수집하였다. 연구 결과, 예배 현장 설교는 설교 준비, 설교 발표, 설교 청취 및 피 드백 등 모든 측면에서 강의실 설교보다 높은 평가를 받았으며, 만족도 항목에서도 설교 경험, 설교 능력 향상, 신앙적 성장, 준비 및 발표 과정 등 모든 영역에서 예배 현장 설교가 강의실 설교보다 우수하다는 평가 가 나타났다. 개방형 질문 분석에서도 예배 현장 설교의 교육적 효과가 긍정적으로 확인되었으나, LE(제한된 기회 및 환경), EF(평가 및 피드 백 부족), IS(제도적 지원 부족) 등 개선이 필요한 요소도 발견되었다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 설교 실습의 교육적 효과를 향상하기 위해 (1) 예배 현장 설교의 활용 확대, (2) 신학교와 교회의 협력 강화, (3) 강의 실에서 예배 현장 설교를 구현하는 방안 시도, (4) 구체적인 청중을 고려한 설교 실습 도입, (5) 설교자의 영적 성숙을 강조하는 교육적 접근 을 제안하였다. 지금까지 시도된 적이 없는 예배 현장 설교의 교육적 효과를 경험적으로 검증한 이 연구는 향후 설교 실습 개선을 위한 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
