A homiletical move proceeds in the following three stages: from biblical exegesis to principalization, which involves discerning the spiritual meaning from biblical exegesis, and sermon delivery, which communicates the biblical teaching to the audience. A preacher who exegetes Scripture with the goal of delivering a sermon must first experience the Word-event in a specific biblical text-not through the interpreter’s rational intellect but under the illuminating light of the Holy Spirit. The preacher must then principalize this experienced Word of God from the perspective of Reformed theological doctrine. Next, in the act of sermon delivery, the preacher must verbally reenact and represent the covenant renewal event testified to in Scripture, bringing it before the audience from the pulpit. The researcher applies Kevin Vanhoozer’s metaphor of dramaturgy-as proposed in The Drama of Doctrine-to biblical interpretation, seeking to interpret the entire Scripture from the perspective of covenant hermeneutics and to present the process of principalization for the preparation and delivery of expository preaching. Through this approach, the researcher aims to interpret biblical passages - case laws of covenant renewal between God and believers - f rom the standpoint of covenant theology. By offering a homiletical process for principalizing the spiritual teachings of these passages, this study seeks to establish a theoretical foundation for biblical expository preaching, so as to equip preachers in pastoral ministry.

설교학적인 이동(a homiletical move)은 (본문 주해로부터 영적 의미를 파악하는) 원리화와 (성경의 교훈을 청중에게 전달하는) 설교전달의 두 단계로 진행된다. 설교 메시지 전달을 목적으로 성경을 주해하는 설 교자는, 먼저 성경의 특정 본문으로부터 (해석자의 합리적 이성이 아니 라 성령 하나님의 조명하시는 빛 아래) 말씀-사건(Word-event)을 경험 하고, 그렇게 경험한 하나님의 말씀을 개혁주의 교리의 관점으로 원리화 (principalize)하여야 한다. 그 다음에는 설교 강단에서 청중에게 성경이 증언하는 언약갱신 사건을 다시 언어적으로 재현하고 연출해야 한다 (설교전달). 필자는 케빈 밴후저가『교리의 드라마』(The Drama of Doctrine)에 서 제안한‘드라마투르기’(dramaturgy, 극작법 劇作法, 연극공연예술) 의 은유를 성경해석에 적용하여, 성경 전체를 언약해석학의 관점에서 해석하고 강해설교 준비와 전달을 위한 원리화의 과정을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 통하여 하나님과 신자 사이의 언약 갱신의 판례인 성경 본 문을 언약신학의 관점에서 해석하고, 그렇게 해석한 결과물로서 성경 본문의 영적 교훈을 원리화하는 방안을 제시함으로, 목회 현장의 설교 자들에게 성경적인 강해설교의 이론적인 토대를 마련하고자 한다.
