The purpose of this paper is to analyze and evaluate the Romans homilies of Rev. Eunbo Oak Han-hum, who is recognized as a representative preacher of the Korean church, from hermeneutical and homiletical perspectives. While various studies have been conducted on Oak’s sermons, this study focuses specifically on evaluating his representative sermons, sermons of the book of Romans, from the perspective of authorial intention and audience contextualization, which are essential criteria for contemporary homiletics. To do so, the researcher first outlined an overall understanding of Oak’s sermons, namely his sermon preparation process, organizational methods, and delivery techniques. To justify the analysis, the researcher also summarized Oak’s understanding of them. Based on this theoretical content, the researcher verified the extent to which her understanding of authorial intentionality and audience contextualization was faithfully and effectively practiced in her homilies on Romans. Finally, this study examines the practical and pastoral implications of Ok’s Romans homilies from the two key perspectives of authorial intentionality and audience contextualization for the Korean church pulpit today.

이 논문은 한국교회의 대표적인 설교자로 인정받는 은보(恩步) 옥한흠 목사의 로마서 강해 설교를 해석학적, 설교학적 관점에서 분석하고 평가하는 데 있다. 지금까지 옥한흠 목사의 설교에 대한 다양한 연구가 진행되어 왔지만, 이 연구는 특별히 그의 대표적 강해설교인 로마서 강해 설교를 현대 강해설교의 필수 잣대인 저자의 의도성과 청중 맥락 화라는 관점으로 평가하는 데 초점을 두었다. 이를 위해서 연구자는 우선 옥한흠 목사의 설교에 대한 전반적인 이해, 즉 그의 설교 준비 과정, 구성 방법, 그리고 전달 기법에 대한 특징을 개괄적으로 살펴보았다. 또한 분석의 정당성을 위해서, 현대 강해설교의 필수 요소인 저자의 의도성 과 청중 맥락화의 필요성과 중요성에 대한 이론적 설명과 더불어 이에 관한 옥한흠 목사의 이해를 정리해 보았다. 이런 이론적 내용을 바탕으 로 연구자는 자신의 저자의 의도성과 청중 맥락화의 이해가 로마서 강 해 설교를 얼마나 충실하고 효과적으로 실천했는지를 검증해 보았다. 마지막으로 이 연구는 저자의 의도성과 청중 맥락화라는 두 가지 핵심 적 관점에서 옥한흠 목사의 로마서 강해 설교가 오늘날 한국교회 설교 강단에 가져다주는 실천적, 목회적 함의들을 살펴보고자 한다.
