Since COVID-19, the global economic environment surrounding business activities has changed dramatically. The importance of performance management has been emphasized to implement management strategies against the uncertainties and changes in the rapidly changing business environment. As the new work forms such as working hours and automation systems expand, it is very important to establish a performance management system that is recognized for its fairness, accuracy, and objectivity. The purpose of this study is to examine the mediating effect of personnel appraisal experience on the relationship between performance-based appraisal and individual job performance of employees in Korean companies. This study conducted a statistical analysis based on data from 175 employees of manufacturing company C, which has recently accelerated its growth and is pursuing innovation in its internal business management system. The results of the analysis showed that, first, the degree of employees' perception of performance-based appraisal does not affect individual job performance; second, personnel appraisal experience does affect individual job performance. Third, although the hypothesis of this study that appraisal experience would mediate the relationship between performance-based appraisal and individual job performance was rejected, when examining the mediating effects of subfactors of appraisal experience, satisfaction with the appraisal process and distributive fairness of appraisal were found to mediate the relationship between performance-based appraisal and individual job performance. These results suggest that process satisfaction and distributive fairness are important in enhancing individual performance among the subfactors of appraisal experience.

최근 ChatGPT로 대표되는 인공지능 기술의 급속한 발전으로 여러 산업에 근본적인 변화가 발생하고 있다. 2024년 노벨상에서도 확인되듯 이 이제는 ‘인공지능의 시대’가 도래했다. 한편, 첨단기술 발전, 글로벌 경쟁 격화, 주요국 및 국제기구의 규제 강화 등으로 해운물류산업에도 큰 변화가 발생하였고, 앞으로 이는 인공지능 기술의 고도화로 더욱 가속화될 전망이다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 관점에서 인공지능(AI) 기술의 기본 개념과 발전 현황을 면밀히 살펴보고, 인공지능 기술의 기업경영에의 활용 방안을 해운물류산업을 중심으로 점검하였다. 구체적으로, 해 운물류산업에서는 인공지능을 크게 첫째, 물류 및 관리 최적화, 둘째, 자동화 및 무인화, 셋째, 생성형 AI를 활용한 생산성 향상이라는 3개 축으 로 활용할 수가 있을 것이다. 해운물류산업에서 인공지능이 현재 가장 활성화되어 이용되고 있는 분야는 첫 번째 축인 물류 및 관리 최적화 부 문이며, 이는 다시 물류 최적화, 화물 추적 및 관리와 선박의 예측 유지보수 분야를 중심으로 활성화되고 있다. 두 번째 축인 자동화 및 무인화 부문은 항만 및 창고 운영 자동화와 자율 운항 선박(MASS) 분야를 중심으로 활성화되고 있다. 마지막으로 세 번째 축인 생성형 AI를 활용한 생산성 향상 부문은 정보 수집 및 분석의 효율성 제고와 (미래) 차세대 AI로 통합 경영 관리를 중심으로 인공지능의 적용 가능성을 모색하고 있다.
