The field training system is a system in which students experience industrial sites and acquire specialized knowledge required by companies doing field training at companies or institutions for a certain period of time while attending school. The university field training system is one of the ‘class methods conducted outside of school’ and is based on Article 22, Paragraph 2 of the Higher Education Act and Article 14-2 of the Enforcement Decree of the Higher Education Act. In addition, the ‘University Student Field Training Semester System Operation Regulations’ were established by the Ministry of Education’s notice. The ‘University Student Field Training Semester System Operation Regulations’ require students to receive field training support fees and guarantee break times and holidays. In order to protect students, it also stipulates industrial safety education, industrial accident insurance and accident insurance subscription, and response to human rights violations. This paper examines the reality and challenges of the university student field training system. It organizes the changes, contents, and reality of the university student field training system, and examines labor law issues and improvement tasks of the university student field training system.

현장실습제도는 학생들이 재학 중 일정 기간 동안 기업이나 기관에서 실습을 하면서 산업현장을 경험하고, 기업에서 요구하는 전문지식을 습득하는 제도이다. 대학생 현장실습제도는 ‘학교 밖에서 이루어지는 수업방법’의 하나로, 고등교 육법 제22조 제2항 및 고등교육법 시행령 제14조의2에 그 기반을 두고 있다. 그 리고 교육부 고시로 ‘대학생 현장실습학기제 운영규정’이 마련되어 있다. ‘대학생 현장실습학기제 운영규정’은 학생에게 실습지원비 지급을 의무화하고 있고, 휴게시간과 휴일을 보장하고 있다. 학생 보호를 위해서 안전교육 및 예방 교육, 산재보험 및 상해보험 가입, 인권침해 등에 대한 대응 등의 내용들도 규정 하고 있다. 본고는 대학생 현장실습제도의 실태와 과제를 검토한다. 대학생 현장실습제도 의 변화 및 내용과 실태를 정리하고, 대학생 현장실습제도의 노동법적 쟁점 및 개선과제에 대해서 살펴본다.
