The purpose of this study is to establish a prediction model by searching for factors influencing adult undergraduate students' dropout intention. The effects of individual factors (demographic variables) and university factors (college life variables) on dropout intention were explored by applying multiple logistic regression analysis, stepwise logistic regression analysis, and mediation effect analysis. The research results are as follows. Firstly, university factors such as school year, university commitment, and scholastic ability were found to be significant variables in dropout intention. The second school year, the lower university commitment, and the lower scholastic ability lead to the higher intention to drop out. Secondly, it was found that interaction with professors, peer relation, major satisfaction, and university reputation had an effect on dropout intention through university commitment as a full mediation variable. By applying the dropout intention prediction model developed in the research, it is possible to specifically predict the probability of dropout intention and classify the dropout intention. Follow-up researches based on implications derived from this study are recommended. First, it is suggested to conduct a path analysis reflecting the moderation effect and mediation effect by exploring the effect of demographic variables on dropout intention in various ways. Second, it is necessary to analyze the difference in factors influencing the intention to drop out between adult undergraduate students and school-age college students.. Third, it is needed to explore the causes for the high dropout intention of the second school year of adult undergraduate students.

본 연구의 목적은 성인학습자 대학생의 중도탈락 의도에 미치는 영향요인을 탐색 하여 중도탈락 의도 예측모형을 구축하기 위함이다. 개인요인(인구통계학적 변인 - 성별, 나이, 배우자유무, 가족수, 경제활동여부, 가계소득, 최종학력)과 대학요인(대학 생활 변인 - 학년, 전공만족도, 대학인지도, 교수와 상호작용, 교우관계, 수학능력, 대 학몰입)이 중도탈락 의도에 미치는 영향을 다중 로지스틱 회귀분석, 단계적 로지스틱 회귀분석, 매개효과 분석을 적용하여 확인하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학 년, 대학몰입, 수학능력 등의 대학요인이 중도탈락 의도에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 변수로 나타났다. 2학년, 대학몰입이 낮을수록, 수학능력이 낮을수록 중도탈락 의도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 교수와 상호작용, 교우관계, 전공만족도, 대학인지도는 대학몰입을 완전매개 변수로 하여 중도탈락 의도에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 이 상의 연구를 통해서 개발한 중도탈락 의도 예측모형을 적용하여 중도탈락 의도 확률 을 구체적으로 예측하고 중도탈락 의도를 분류할 수 있게 되었다. 본 연구의 결과에 따른 시사점을 바탕으로 다음과 같이 추수연구를 제시한다. 첫째, 인구통계학적 변수 가 중도탈락 의도에 미치는 영향을 다각적으로 탐색하여 조절효과와 매개효과를 반 영한 경로분석을 실시할 필요가 있다. 둘째, 성인학습자 대학생과 학령기 대학생의 중도탈락 의도 영향요인 차이를 분석하기 위한 연구가 필요하다. 셋째, 성인학습자 대학생 2학년의 높은 중도탈락 의도에 대한 원인을 탐색하기 위한 연구가 필요하다.
