This study explores ways to apply constructive debate in elementary moral education to maintain the essence of democracy. Constructive debate is a process of understanding and analyzing differences in opinions to find common solutions, requiring a balance between cooperative and conflictual elements. The prerequisites for this are understanding communication structures, fostering a cooperative culture, and presenting moral issues. Through a six-step debate process and the use of a ladder of inference, the formation of positions and logical processes are examined. The goal is not to simply divide opinions into pros and cons but to find common ground and explore differences in order to reach a final consensus through constructive debate.

본 연구는 민주주의의 본질을 구현하기 위해 초등 도덕과에서 건설 적 토론을 적용하는 방안을 모색하였다. 건설적 토론은 의견 차이를 이해하고 분석하여 공통의 대안을 찾는 과정으로, 협력적 요소와 갈등 적 요소를 균형 있게 다루는 것을 의미한다. 이를 위한 전제 조건으로 써 의사소통 구조의 이해와 협력적 문화 조성, 도덕적 쟁점 마련이 중 요하며, 6단계 토론 과정과 추론의 사다리를 통해 입장의 형성과 논리 적 과정이 필요함을 제안하였다. 이는 건설적 토론을 통해 쟁점에 대 한 상반된 입장에서 공통점을 찾고 차이점을 탐색함으로써 최종 합의 를 이끌도록 돕는다.
