This study analyzes the inquiry of elementary school computer textbooks. The target of analysis are the conceptually described "Understanding Software" and "Procedural Problem Solving" units in the six practical art textbooks. They were quantitatively analyzed by Romey’s inquiry index and qualitatively conducted content analysis. The results of the exploratory analysis are as follows: First, there were relatively many texts that induce students' behavior, but there were insufficient texts to analyze the data on their own or draw conclusions. There were textbooks explaining it using advanced organizers. Second, most of the pictures were more inquisitive in inducing learners' behavior. Third, learner activities had a high proportion in quantity, but the contents of the activities were often simple, such as "writing" and "fill in blank." Most textbooks presented unplugged activities and required team based activities. Fourth, the explorability was lower than that of activities or pictures. It was necessary to increase activities that induce high thinking and emphasize evaluation that induces diffuse thinking.

본 연구는 초등학교 컴퓨터 교과서의 탐구성을 분석하는 것이다. 분석 대상은 6개의 실과 교과서에 수록된 소프 트웨어 교육 내용 중 개념적으로 서술한 내용 ‘소프트웨어의 이해’와 ‘절차적 문제해결’ 단원이다. 분석 방법은 양 적으로는 Romey의 분석을, 질적으로는 내용분석을 하였다. 탐구성 분석 결과, 첫째, 텍스트는 학생들의 행동을 유 도하는 탐구형 텍스트는 비교적 많았으나, 자료를 학습자 스스로 분석하거나 결론을 도출하게 하는 텍스트는 부족 하였다. 텍스트 내용은 선행조직자를 활용하여 설명하는 교과서들이 있었다. 둘째, 그림은 학습자의 행동을 유도하 는 탐구성이 있었다. 셋째, 학습자 활동은 비중이 높았지만, 활동 내용이 “써보기”, “채워넣기” 등 단순한 경우가 많았다. 대부분 교과서는 언플러그드 활동을 제시였고, 모둠 활동도 요구하였다. 넷째, 평가하기는 탐구성 비중이 낮았다. 앞으로 높은 사고를 유도하는 활동을 늘리고, 확산적 사고를 유도하는 평가를 중시할 필요가 있었다.
