This study aims to examine the structural relationship between elementary school students' academic passion (harmonious passion, obsessive passion), achievement emotions (enjoyment, boredom, anxiety), and academic procrastination, focusing on the mediating effect of achievement emotions. Data were collected from 215 elementary school students in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province and analyzed using confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling. Results showed that first, harmonious passion positively predicted enjoyment and negatively predicted boredom and anxiety. On the other hand, obsessive passion positively predicted enjoyment and negatively predicted boredom, but showed no significant relation to anxiety. Both types of passion negatively predicted academic procrastination. Second, boredom and anxiety showed a strong positive relationship with academic procrastination while enjoyment showed a non-significant relationship. Third, a mediating effect of boredom was found in the relationship between harmonious passion and academic procrastination. Based on these results, the significance and implications for future research were discussed.

본 연구에서는 초등학생의 학업열정(조화열정, 강박열정), 성취정서(즐거움, 지루함, 불안)와 학업지연 간의 구조적 관계를 탐색함에 있어서 성취정서의 매개효과를 중심으로 살펴보았다. 연구방법으로 서울 및 경기도 소재 초등학교의 5-6학년 215명을 대상으로 수집한 자료를 확 인적 요인분석과 구조방정식 모형 검증을 통해 분석하였으며, 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 조화열정이 높을수록 즐거움이 높아지고 지루함과 불안감이 낮아졌다. 또한 강박열정이 높을 수록 즐거움이 높아지고 지루함은 낮아졌으나 불안감과는 무관하였으며, 두 유형의 열정이 높을수록 공통적으로 학업지연이 낮아졌다. 둘째, 지루함과 불안감이 높을수록 학업지연이 높아졌고 즐거움은 학업지연과 무관하였다. 셋째, 조화열정과 학업지연 간의 관계에서 지루 함의 매개효과가 나타났으며, 이는 초등학생들의 학업에 대한 조화열정은 지루함을 낮추고 이어 지연 행동을 감소시킴을 의미한다. 단, 강박열정과 학업지연 간의 관계에서 성취정서의 매개효과는 모두 유의하지 않았다. 이러한 결과들을 바탕으로 연구의 시사점과 후속 연구를 위한 제언을 논의하였다.
