This study examines the mediating effect of peer relationships on the relationship between fandom involvement and life satisfaction among adolescents. Data were collected from 331 middle and high school students in Y District, Seoul, analyzing fandom involvement, life satisfaction, and peer relationships. The results showed a significant positive correlation between fandom involvement and life satisfaction, while peer relationships also influenced life satisfaction. However, no direct correlation was found between fandom involvement and peer relationships, and the mediating effect of peer relationships was not significant. These findings indicate that fandom activities directly enhance adolescents’ life satisfaction, independent of peer relationship quality, highlighting their potential as a positive factor in adolescent development.

본 연구는 청소년 팬덤활동 중 팬쉽 정도와 삶의 만족도 간의 관계에서 또래관계의 매개효과를 검증하였 다. 서울시 Y구 소재 중·고등학교 재학생 331명을 대상으로 팬쉽 정도, 삶의 만족도, 또래관계를 분석한 결과, 팬 쉽 정도는 삶의 만족도와 긍정적인 상관관계를 보였으며, 또래관계는 삶의 만족도에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤다. 그 러나 팬쉽 정도와 또래관계 간의 직접적 상관관계는 유의하지 않았으며, 또래관계의 매개효과 또한 통계적으로 유 의하지 않았다. 이는 팬덤활동이 또래관계와 무관하게 청소년의 삶의 만족도에 직접 기여할 수 있음을 시사한다. 본 연구는 팬덤활동의 긍정적 영향을 조명하며, 청소년 발달을 위한 활용 가능성을 논의하였다.
