Today's urban transportation systems consist of both large-scale transit and a variety of small-scale mobility options, with the personal mobility market, including motorcycles, electric scooters, and electric bicycles, experiencing rapid growth. Personal mobility refers to small electric vehicles used by individuals for short-distance travel. As the adoption of personal mobility devices has increased, the accident rate has also risen due to factors such as failure to wear safety equipment and a lack of public awareness regarding road use. Given the exposed body while using personal mobility devices, even minor accidents frequently result in significant injuries, highlighting the need for research into more easily wearable clothing and safety products, as well as readily portable solutions for these items. This study employs methodologies including literature review, case study, and product development. Academic papers, books, and online articles are analyzed to examine the concept of personal mobility, the expansion of the market, and the associated social issues. Furthermore, the concept and characteristics of personal mobility riding jackets are investigated to establish a fundamental theoretical framework, and the cases of commercially available riding jackets are examined. Target group interviews are conducted with seven personal mobility users to analyze the functions and features that consumers genuinely desire. Based on the findings, four riding jacket prototypes, transformed from a bag and designed specifically for personal mobility users, are researched and developed. This aims to propose design directions that maximize safety and convenience, enabling personal mobility users to store belongings or wear the jacket easily while riding.

오늘날 도시 교통 체계는 큰 수송 수단 뿐만 아니라 다양한 작은 이동 수단으로 이루어지며, 모터사이클, 전동킥보드, 전기 자전거와 같은 퍼스널 모빌리티 시장이 급성장하였다. 퍼스널 모빌리티는 개인이 단거리 이동에 사용하는 소형 전동 이동 수단을 의미한다. 퍼스널 모빌리티의 이용이 늘어남과 동시에 안전장비 미 착용이나 도로주행에 대한 시민들의 인식 미흡으로 인해 사고율 또한 늘어났다. 신체가 외부에 노출된 퍼스 널 모빌리티의 특성상 작은 사고에도 큰 부상으로 이어지는 경우가 빈번하게 발생하여 퍼스널 모빌리티 이 용 시, 보다 편리하게 착용할 수 있는 의류와 안전 제품, 나아가 이를 손쉽게 휴대할 수 있는 방안에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 본 연구의 연구 방법은 문헌 연구, 사례 연구, 작품 개발 연구로서, 학술 논문, 단행본, 온라 인 기사를 통해 퍼스널 모빌리티의 개념과 시장의 확장, 그로 인한 사회적 문제들을 살펴본다. 또한, 퍼스널 모빌리티 라이딩 재킷의 개념 및 특성을 조사하여 연구의 기초 이론을 확립하고, 시판되고 있는 라이딩 재킷 을 사례 연구한다. 퍼스널 모빌리티 이용자 7명을 대상으로 한 표적 집단 면접을 통해 소비자가 실제로 원하 는 기능과 특성을 분석한다. 분석한 결과를 바탕으로 퍼스널 모빌리티에 적합하도록 가방에서 재킷으로 변형 되는 라이딩 재킷 작품 4점을 개발연구한다. 이를 통해 퍼스널 모빌리티 이용자들이 라이딩 중에 물건을 수 납하거나 쉽게 착용할 수 있도록 안전성과 편의성을 극대화한 디자인 방향을 제시한다.
