This study explores sustainable strategies for the coexistence of local universities in Gyeongsangnam-do by analyzing the differences and commonalities in perceptions among key stakeholders, including students, professors, industries, and parents. The research methodology employed Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) and Importance-Requirement Analysis (IRA) to identify the demands and priorities of various stakeholders. The results highlight that improving student welfare, enhancing career and employment competencies, and advancing educational and research quality are critical objectives. Moreover, regional innovation specialization strategies and industry-linked university reforms are essential measures for ensuring sustainability. In contrast, deregulation of tuition fees and increased government funding for universities were found to be of lower priority. We have achieved a comprehensive understanding that enables us to propose various policy and practical recommendations, including strengthening collaboration between universities and local communities, sharing transparent information, implementing customized educational innovations, and pursuing structural reforms.

본 연구는 경상남도 지방대학의 지속 가능성을 위한 상생 전략을 탐색하기 위해 주요 이해관계자인 학생, 교 수, 산업체, 학부모 간의 인식 차이와 공통점을 분석하였다. 학령인구 감소와 수도권 집중화로 인한 지방대학 위기는 지역 경제와 사회에 심각한 영향을 미치고 있으며, 이를 해결하기 위해 대학과 지역사회 간의 협력이 필수적이다. 연 구방법은 IPA(만족도와 중요도 분석)와 IRA(필요도와 중요도 분석)를 활용하여 각 이해관계자의 요구와 우선순위를 도출하였다. 분석 결과, 학생복지 향상, 진로 및 취업역량 강화, 교육 및 연구 수준 향상이 가장 중요한 과제로 선정 되었으며, 지역혁신 특성화 전략과 산업체 연계를 통한 대학혁신이 필수적인 방안으로 제시되었다. 반면, 등록금 자율 화와 정부 재정지원 강화는 낮은 우선순위를 차지하였다. 따라서, 경상남도 지방대학이 지속 가능성을 확보하기 위해 지역사회와의 협력 강화, 정보 공유, 맞춤형 교육혁신, 구조조정 등 다양한 정책적 및 실무적 대안을 제안하며, 지역 균형 발전과 대학의 생존 전략 마련에 기여하고자 한다.
