This study dealt with the historical transformation process of special martial arts and the beginning and development of special martial arts education. Special martial arts began to be known externally in 1978 when a demonstration was conducted for the presidential security chief. Since then, the Blue House's security office has been using security tactics for security purposes, In the military, it is spreading as a defense martial art necessary for special operations, and in general society, it is spreading as a life martial art that can cope with an individual's healthy life and emergency situations. 본고에서는 특공무술의 역사적 변천과정과 특공무술 교육의 시작과 발전에 대하여 다루었다. 특공무술은 한국 고유의 무술이다. 특공무술은 1978년 대통령 경호실장을 대상으로 시범이 진행되며 대외적으로 알려지기 시작하였다. 이후 청와대 경호실에서 경호목적으로 하는 경호무술로, 군에서는 특수작전에 필요한 국방무술로, 일반사회에서는 개 인의 건강한 삶과 위급 상황 시 대처 할 수 있는 생활무술로 전파되고 있다. 일반사회에서의 특공무술 교육의 필요성 과 일반 사회의 특공무술 발전을 위해 특공무술의 다양성과 유단자들의 주특기를 강화 할 수 있는 프로그램 및 생활 체육으로서 특공무술의 발전을 위한 방법들을 연구 정리하고자 한다.
