Local communities are facing the crisis of population decline and regional extinction, and to solve this problem, tourism activation using local assets is emerging as an important strategy. Deoksu-ri, Seogwipo-si, Jeju, has beautiful natural scenery and rich cultural and historical assets, so it was selected as the target site for the village MICE project in Seogwipo-si cultural city project. This means that Deoksu-ri has excellent local assets to promote village MICE, but there are insufficient tools to effectively promote and utilize it. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to design an art map to find ways to contribute to revitalizing village MICE and developing local tourism. This study analyzes the local assets of Deoksu-ri Village, and based on this, three types of art maps were designed: topic reinforcement, theme interior design, and general type, and through a preference survey, the effects were analyzed in five items: information delivery, ease of understanding, interest, and intention to visit. The thematic interior art map received positive reviews in all items, and in particular showed strengths in terms of storytelling and natural connection between exploration routes, and connection between local assets. These results suggest that it is a suitable tool for maximizing the visitor experience and promoting the uniqueness of Deoksu-ri by integrating local assets and stories. In future research, art maps should focus on proposing effective art map design that contributes to strengthening local identity and preserving cultural values beyond simple tourism tools.

지역사회는 인구 감소와 지역 소멸 위기에 직면하고 있으며, 이를 해결하기 위해 지역 자산을 활용한 관광 활성화가 중요한 전략으로 떠오르고 있다. 제주 서귀포시 덕수리는 아름다운 자연경관과 풍부한 문화·역사적 자산을 보유하고 있어 서귀포시 문화도시 사업에서 마을 MICE 사업 대상지로 선정되었다. 이는 덕수리가 마을 MICE를 추진할 수 있는 우수한 지역 자산을 갖추고 있음을 의미하지만, 이를 효과적으로 홍보하고 활용할 도구가 부족한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구는 아트맵을 설계하여 마을 MICE 활성화와 지역 관광 발전에 기여하는 방안을 모색하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 본 연구는 덕수리 마을의 지역 자산을 분석하고 이를 기반으로 주제강조형, 주제내재형, 일반형의 세 가지 유형의 아트맵을 설계하여 선호도조사를 통해 각 유형의 정보 전달, 이해 용이성, 흥미 및 방문 의사 등 다섯 가지 항목에서 효과를 분석하였다. 주제내재형 아트맵은 모든 항목에서 긍정적 평가를 받았으며, 특히 스토리텔링과 탐방 동선의 자연스러운 연결, 지역 자산 간의 연관성 전달 측면에서 강점을 보였다. 이 같은 결과는 지역 자산과 스토리를 통합적으로 전달하여 방문객 경험을 극대화하며 덕수리의 고유성을 알리는데 적합한 도구임을 시사한다. 향후 연구에서는 아트맵이 단순한 관광 도구를 넘어 지역 정체성을 강화하고 문화 가치를 보존하는데 기여하는 실효성 있는 아트맵 설계를 제안하는데 중점을 두어야 할 것이다.
