This study aims to investigate the effects of music therapy on the self-efficacy and peer relationships of vulnerable children by applying music education techniques. The study involved 18 vulnerable children in grades 3 to 6 at the local children's centers in Gyeonggi province, divided into two groups of 9 as the experimental and the control groups. Music therapy using the music education approach was applied to the experimental group once a week, for 12 times, 50 minutes, and no treatment was given to the control group. For quantitative data analysis, differences in changes between groups and within groups were compared using self-efficacy and peer relationship skill scales as pre-post tests. In addition, to analyze qualitative data on changes in participants through music therapy, observation diaries, recorded videos, and music data were collected for the entire music therapy process to derive common changes among participants. As a result of the study, the experimental group showed a statistically significant increase in confidence among the sub-areas of self-efficacy, and had a positive effect on the leadership of peer relations skills, cooperation, and empathy. In addition, children showed changes in four main areas: positive self-awareness formation, emotional and behavioral regulation ability development, preference, and challenge for task difficulty, as well as role and interaction in peer relationships. In particular, it was emphasized that they gained confidence through musical instrument performance and improvisation activities, strengthened relationships with peers, performed creative tasks, and experienced a sense of accomplishment. These results suggest that music therapy using music education techniques can be an intervention method that will positively affect vulnerable children's self-efficacy and peer relationship skills.

본 연구의 목적은 음악교육 기법을 활용한 음악치료가 취약계층 아동의 자기효능감 및 또래 관계에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보기 위함이다. 이를 위해 경기도에 소재한 지역아동센터를 이용하는 취약계층 초등학교 3~6학년 아동 18명이 참여하여 실험집단 9명, 통제집단 9명으로 배치되었다. 실험집단에는 음악교육 접근법을 활용한 음악치료를 주 1회, 50분씩 총 12회기 적용하였으며, 통제집단에는 아무런 처치를 하지 않았다. 양적 자료 분석 을 위해 사전-사후검사로 자기효능감과 또래 관계 기술 척도를 사용하여 집단 간, 집단 내 변화 차이를 비교하였 다. 또한, 음악치료를 통한 참여자들의 변화에 대한 질적 자료 분석을 위해 음악치료 전 과정에 대한 관찰 일지와 녹화 영상 및 음악 자료를 수집하여 참여자들의 공통된 변화를 도출하였다. 연구 결과, 실험집단이 자기효능감의 하위영역 중 자신감에서 통계적으로 유의한 증가를 보였으며, 또래 관계 기술의 주도성과 협동·공감 영역에서도 긍정적 영향을 미쳤다. 또한, 아동은 긍정적 자기 인식 형성, 감정 및 행동 조절 능력 발달, 과제난이도에 대한 선호와 도전, 또래 관계 속에서 역할과 상호작용이라는 4개의 주요 영역에 변화를 보였다. 특히, 악기연주 및 즉흥 활동을 통해 자신감을 얻고 또래와의 관계를 강화하며, 창의적인 과제를 수행하며 성취감을 경험한 점이 강조되었다. 이와 같은 결과는 음악교육 기법을 활용한 음악치료가 취약계층 아동의 자기효능감과 또래 관계 기술에 긍정적 영향을 미칠 중재 방안이 될 수 있음을 시사한다.
