This study is about cultural diversity education which is essential in a global society. The researcher tried to conduct cultural learning using movies and examine learners' awareness accordingly. The participants consisted of 48 students who attended Media English course at a university located in Busan in the second semester of 2024. The procedures of cultural learning course were introduced, and ‘The Intern(2015)’ was used for providing many types of cultural elements. The participants were asked to do many various group activities to investigate cultural components through script, songs, items, scenes and background. At the same time, the researcher focused to an in-depth discussion on social issues which are based on different culture. In the end, questionnaires and open-ended questions were given to participants to figure out learner’s awareness, and educational implications were discussed according to the results.

본 연구는 글로벌 사회, 다문화사회를 살아가는 현대 사회에서 필수적으로 요구되는 문화 다양성 교육에 관 한 것으로 영화를 활용하여 문화학습을 시행하고 그에 따른 학습자의 반응을 살피고자 하였다. 본 연구의 참여 자는 2024년 2학기 부산시에 소재하는 4년제 대학에서 영화 활용 수업인 미디어 영어 과목을 수강한 48명의 학생으로 구성되었다. 영화‘인턴’ 속에 나타나는 다양한 문화 요소들을 학습하는 수업 운영 방식을 소개하 고, 더 적극적인 연구 참여자들의 문화학습을 위해 조별 활동이 진행되었다. 영화 속 인물들의 대사와 장면, 배 경, 물건 등에 나타나는 문화 요소를 학습함과 동시에 사회 전반에 걸쳐 있는 주제화된 문화 즉, 사회에 뿌리 내리고 있거나 시대의 변화로 나타나는 사회적 이슈에 대한 깊은 토론을 통해 문화 다양성에 관한 교육을 학 습 현장에서 적용하고자 하였다. 6주간에 걸친 영화 활용 문화 수업을 시행하고 설문지와 개방형 질문을 통해 학습자의 반응을 알아보았으며 그 결과에 따른 교육적 시사점을 제시하고자 하였다.
