This study aims to realistically describe the campaign operation process of Korean middle school students that combined public health promotion and global environmental protection, and to explore its social, ecological, and educational implications. Three middle school students who played a leading role in campaign activities were selected as informants through critical case sampling among purposive sampling methods. Research data included interviews with informants, observation of campaign activities, and various cultural artifacts. The collected data were analyzed in depth through factual descriptions within cases and cross-case analysis. The project activities performed by the informants were described in the stages of starting the campaign, operating the campaign, and concluding the campaign according to events, people, and the flow of time. These research results were interpreted in terms of social, ecological, and educational implications. First, the social implications of the campaign activities performed by the informants were explored as ‘Crossbreeding’ between progressive ideas and conservative platforms. Second, the ecological implications of the informants’ ‘Both Ends Do Not Fall’ in the course of the campaign activities were derived. Lastly, the educational meaning of the campaign activities was interpreted as the information provider growing through ‘Trial and Error’.

이 연구는 중학생들이 시민건강 증진과 지구환경 보호를 융합한 캠페인 운영 과정 사례를 사실적으로 기술 하고, 그 사회적, 생태학적, 교육적 의미를 탐색하는 데 목적이 있다. 유목적 표집법 중 결정적 사례 표집으로 캠페인 활동에 주도적인 역할을 한 중학생 3명을 정보제공자로 선정하였다. 연구 자료로 정보제공자와의 인터 뷰, 캠페인 활동 관찰, 다양한 문화적 인공물을 수집하였다. 수집된 자료는 사례 내 분석을 통한 사실적 기술과 사례 간 분석을 통해 심층적으로 해석하였다. 정보제공자가 수행한 프로젝트 활동은 사건, 인물, 시간의 흐름 에 따라 캠페인 시작하기, 캠페인 운영하기, 캠페인 마무리하기 국면으로 나누어 기술하였다. 이러한 연구 결 과는 사회적, 생태학적, 교육적 의미로 해석되었다. 첫째, 정보제공자가 수행한 캠페인 활동은 진보적 아이디어 와 보수적 플랫폼이 만나 ‘이종교배’ 되었다는 사회적 의미가 탐색되었다. 둘째, 캠페인 활동 과정에서 정보 제공자는 인간의 건강과 지구의 환경을 동시에 ‘양단불락’ 하였다는 생태적 의미가 도출되었다. 마지막으로, 캠페인 활동을 수행하면서 정보제공자는 ‘시행착오’를 통해 성장하였다는 교육적 의미로 해석되었다.
