This study developed a preliminary emotional scale to accurately reflect the emotional experiences of Thai learners of Korean based on Dewaele and MacIntyre’s (2014) Foreign Language Enjoyment Scale (FLES) and the Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scales (FLCAS). The 107 study participants reported experiencing enjoyment through various factors, including teacher influence, a supportive learning environment, diverse learning activities, and peer interactions, while demonstrating a tendency to manage their academic anxiety. Overall, this study makes significant contributions to the literature, being the first to comprehensively examine Thai Korean language learners’ emotional tendencies by applying these scales and proposing an emotional scale tailored to their cultural characteristics. These findings can advance the implementation of learner-centered education in Korean language teaching for Thai learners.

본 연구는 Dewaele & MacIntyre(2014)의 외국어 즐거움 척도(Foreign Language Enjoyment Scale, FLES)와 외국어 교실 불안 척도(Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale, FLCAS)를 태국인 한국어 학습자들 에게 적용하고, 이를 통해 태국인 한국어 학습자들의 감정적 경험을 정 확하게 반영할 수 있는 새로운 감정 척도를 시범적으로 구성하고자 하였 다. 본 연구의 대상은 107명의 태국인 한국어 학습자로, 이들은 교사 요 인, 우호적인 학습 분위기, 다양한 학습 활동, 또래와의 상호작용 등 여러 요인에 의해 즐거움을 느끼고, 학업 스트레스를 제어하는 경향을 보였 다. 이 연구는 최초로 태국인 한국어 학습자들에게 해당 척도를 적용하 여 감정 성향을 종합적으로 파악하고, 이를 바탕으로 태국인 학습자들의 문화적 특성에 적합한 감정 척도를 제시했다는 점에서 중요한 의의가 있 다. 이를 통해 태국인 학습자를 대상으로 한 한국어 교육에서 학습자 중 심 교육을 실현하는 데에 기여할 수 있을 것이다.
