This study was conducted to analyze the impact of hypertension-related characteristics, subjective health status, and health management behaviors on the oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) in patients with hypertension using the Oral Health Impact Profile-14 (OHIP-14). A self-administered questionnaire survey was conducted from March to May 2024, targeting 120 hypertensive patients recruited from dental clinics in Busan and hypertension-related online communities. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 29.0, employing frequency analysis, t-tests, and ANOVA. The results showed that unmarried individuals had higher OHIP-14 scores compared to married individuals, and participants with an average monthly income of less than 4 million KRW showed higher scores than those with higher income. Additionally, better blood pressure control and longer durations of antihypertensive medication use were associated with higher OHIP-14 scores, indicating that effective blood pressure management and consistent medication adherence positively influence OHRQoL. This study identifies various factors affecting the OHIP-14 scores of hypertensive patients and provides foundational data for developing tailored educational and management programs to improve oral health among this population.

본 연구는 고혈압 환자를 대상으로 고혈압 관련 특성과 주관적 건강수준 및 건강관리행태를 파악하고, OHIP-14를 활용하여 구강건강관련 삶의 질에 미치는 영향을 분석하고자 수행되었다. 2024년 3월부터 5월까지 부산 소재 치과의원 및 고혈압 관련 온라인 커뮤니티를 통해 모집한 고혈압 환자 120명을 대상으로 자기기입식 설문조사를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 29.0을 이용하여 빈도분석, t-검정, ANOVA 등의 통계 분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 결혼 여부에서는 미혼자가 기혼자보다 구강건강영향지수 점수가 높았으며, 월평균 소득이 400만 원 미만인 집단에서 점수가 더 높게 나타났다. 혈압 조절이 잘 될수록, 약 복용 기간이 길수록 구강건강영향지수 점수가 높아, 효과적인 혈압 관리와 꾸준한 약물 복용이 구강건강관련 삶의 질에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 고혈압 환자의 구강건강영향지수에 영향을 미치는 다양한 요인을 규명하여, 고혈압 환자의 구강건강 증진을 위한 맞춤형 교육과 관리 프로그램 개발의 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
