This study aims to demonstrate that Feng Shui and Myeongri share a common philosophical foundation and are interconnected practical disciplines from the perspective of an organic view of nature. In Eastern thought, time and space are not perceived as separate entities but as closely interrelated concepts. From this spatiotemporal perspective, the universe is regarded as being filled with energy, where all beings are interconnected within a vast field and interact organically. Consequently, heaven, earth and humanity, which constitute space, are believed to resonate with and influence one another. Based on this concept, Feng Shui developed as a system that analyzes spatial elements such as topography and environmental conditions to help humans achieve harmony with nature. Additionally, Eastern thought perceives existence within the flow of time, interpreting temporal elements such as birth year, month, day, and hour to predict human fortune and misfortune. This perspective led to the development of Myeongri. Although Feng Shui primarily focuses on spatial elements and Myeongri on temporal elements, both systems fundamentally emphasize the role of energy in fostering harmony between nature and humanity. Therefore, for a more precise interpretation of destiny, it is necessary to consider Feng Shui and Myeongri comprehensively. This represents an academic approach that comprehensively understands the function of energy within the continuum of time and space, while also reflecting the fundamental principles of Eastern philosophy.

본 연구는 풍수와 명리가 공통된 사상적 근원을 가지며, 유기론적 자연관의 관점에서 상호 연관된 동양 사상의 실천적 학문임을 밝히고자 한다. 동양 사상에서 시간과 공간은 분리된 개념이 아니라 서로 긴밀하게 연관된 것으로 인식되었다. 이러한 시공간의 관점에서 우주는 기로 충만하며, 모든 존재는 기를 통해 연결된 거대한 장(場) 속에서 유기적으로 작용한다고 보았다. 이에 따라, 공간을 구성하는 천지인이 상호 감응하며 영향을 주고받는다고 믿었다. 이러한 사상을 바탕으로 형성된 풍수는 지형과 환경이라는 공간적 요소를 분석하여 인간이 자연과 조화를 이루도록 하는 체계로 발전하였다. 또한, 동양 사상은 존재를 시간의 흐름 속에서 파악하는 관점을 지녔으며, 태어난 연월일시라는 시간적 요소를 분석하여 인간의 길흉화복을 예측하고자 하였다. 이러한 사상에서 발전한 것이 명리이다. 풍수는 공간을, 명리는 시간을 주요 대상으로 삼는다는 점에서 차이가 있으나, 모두 기를 매개로 자연과 인간의 조화를 중시한다. 따라서 더욱 정밀한 운명 해석을 위해서는 풍수와 명리를 종합적으로 고려하는 것이 필요하다. 이는 시공간 속에서 기의 작용을 통합적으로 이해하는 학문적 접근 방식이며, 동양 사상의 핵심적 원리를 반영하는 관점이다.
