This article is a textual research of Cho Woo-suk(1782-1864) and his compilation of the military book “Mubiyoram”. Cho Woo-suk, a general of Pyongyang's Cho Clan, served in the central and provincial armies, and has extensive military experience and extensive knowledge of traditional military writing. In 1855,Cho Woo-suk, based on the Chinese military books "Wubeizhi" and Qi Jiguang's military books, combined with other various traditional Chinese military books, summarized his military experience for many years into a “Mubiyoram”. This book embodies his understanding of general selection, soldier training, weapons and equipment, logistics food, combat formation law, strategic concepts and so on. At the same time, this book is a representative work of the Joseon Dynasty before entering modern times, when local military officials used traditional military science to find a way to save the country and its people.

本文是對朝鮮哲宗代黃海道兵馬節度使趙禹錫(1782∼1864)與其所編纂的兵書『武備要覽』的考證｡ 趙禹錫出身平壤趙氏將門, 曾在都城漢陽的中央軍與地方各道的軍中任職, 具有豐富的實際軍事經驗和廣博的傳統兵書知識｡ 在1855年, 趙禹錫以中國兵書『武備志』和戚繼光兵書為本, 結合多種中國傳統兵書, 將自己多年以來的軍事心得摘抄並整理成篇, 匯總爲『武備要覽』｡ 這部書凝聚了他對將帥選拔、士兵訓練、武器裝備、後勤軍糧、戰鬥陣法、戰略觀念等多方面的認識｡ 同時, 這部書也是朝鮮王朝進入近代的前夜, 地方武官利用傳統兵學尋找救國安民之道的代表性著作｡

본 논문은 조선 철종 대 황해도 병마절도사 조우석(趙禹錫, 1782~1864)과 그가 편찬한 병서 『무비요람(武備要覽)』에 대한 고증이다. 조우석은 평양 조씨 장문 출신으로 도읍지인 한양의 중앙군과 지방 각 도 군에서 근무하면서 실제 군사 경험과 전통 병서 지식이 풍부했다. 1855년 조우석은 중국의 병서인 『무비지(武備志)』와 척계광(戚繼光)의 병서(兵書)를 바탕으로 다양한 중국의 전통 병서를 종합하여 자신의 오랜 군사 심리를 발췌·정리하여 『무비요람』으로 만들었다. 장수 선발, 병사 훈련, 무기 장비, 병참 군량, 전투 진법, 전략 관념 등 다방면에 걸친 그의 인식이 집약된 책이다.근대 전야에 지방 무관들이 전통 병학을 이용해 구국 안민의 길을 찾았던 대표적인 저서이기도 하다.
