This study applied the Q-methodology to analyze and identify the characteristics of different types of subjective perceptions of professor leadership among students majoring in air travel and tourism. For the study, 33 Q-samples were extracted from a Q-population, which was developed based on previous studies and in-depth interviews with students. A total of 25 P-samples participated in the interviews and the results were analyzed using the web-based Ken-Q analysis program. Based on the analysis, three types of the subjective perceptions of professor leadership were identified.: Type 1, 'Role model leadership of respect and encouragement'; Type 2, 'Charismatic visionary leadership'; and Type 3, 'Empathic leadership of listening and respect'. Although there are differences in the characteristics of each type of professor leadership, Type 1 and Type 2 share a common role as role models for students preparing for employment due to the characteristics of the major, and Type 3 emphasizes the importance of listening and respect based on communication between professors and students. It is expected that the effective use of professor leadership in education and student guidance will enhance educational outcomes and student satisfaction.

본 연구는 전문대학교 항공관광전공 학생들을 대상으로 교수 리더십에 대한 주관적 인식 유형을 파악하기 위해, Q-방법론을 적용하여 분석하고 유형별 특성을 파악하고자 하였다. 연구를 위해 선행 연구 및 항공관광전공 학생들의 심층 인터뷰 내용을 토대로 구성한 Q-모집단 으로부터 총 33개의 Q-표본 진술문을 선정하였다. 자료의 수집은 경기도 소재 S전문대학교 항공관광과에 재학 중인 25명의 학생을 대상으 로 직접 인터뷰를 통하여 이루어졌으며, Ken-Q Analysis 프로그램으로 분석하였다. 교수 리더십에 대한 주관적 인식은 유형 1은 ‘존중과 격려의 롤모델형’, 유형 2는 ‘카리스마적 비전제시형’, 유형 3은 ‘경청과 존중의 공감형’ 등 세 가지 유형으로 분류되었다. 연구 결과, 교수 리더십에 대한 유형별 특성의 차이는 있으나 유형 1과 유형 2는 공통적으로 전공 특성상 취업을 목표로 하는 학생들의 롤모델로서의 역할이 교수 리더십으로 중요하게 인식되었으며, 유형 3의 경우 교수와 학생 상호 간 소통과 공감을 기반으로 경청과 존중을 중요하게 인식하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과를 토대로 학생들이 인식하는 교수 리더십이 무엇인지 탐색함으로써 교육 전략으로서 교수 리더십의 효과적인 발휘를 통한 교육성과 및 학생 만족도 제고를 기대할 수 있을 것이다.
