This study aimed to develop valid and reliable evaluation indicators for the ESG activities of professional sports teams based on the perceptions of sports fans, drawing from previous studies on ESG management in professional sports organizations. To achieve this research objective, professional sports fans were selected as the target population, and a total of 468 questionnaires were distributed using a convenience sampling method, which is one of the non-probability sampling techniques. Of the returned questionnaires, 466 (99.5%) were processed using statistical programs (SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 23.0) after excluding two responses that had more than five missing items. Descriptive statistics, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and reliability analysis were conducted. According to the research results, environmental factors, transparent management and social contributions were identified as key evaluation factors of the ESG activities that these sports fans consider important. Therefore, the ESG management evaluation indicators derived from this study are expected to provide a reliable and valid tool that can be applied by future professional sports teams and academic researchers to assess the validity and efficacy of implementing ESG management.

본 연구는 프로스포츠팀의 ESG 경영과 관련된 선행연구들을 바탕으로 스포츠팬의 인식에 기반한 타당하고 신뢰 성 있는 프로야구 구단의 ESG 활동 평가지표를 규명하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구를 위해, 국내 스포츠팬을 대상으로 모집단을 선정하였으며, 비확률표본추출법에 있어 편의추출법(covenience sampling method)을 적용하여 총 468부 가 배포되어 회수되었다. 회수된 설문지 중 조사 내용의 일부가 누락된 2부를 제외한 총 466(99.5%)부의 자료가 분석에 이용되었다. 통계프로그램은 SPSS 및 AMOS 23.0을 이용하였으며, 기술통계분석을 비롯한 탐색적 및 확인적 요인분석, 신뢰도분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구결과에 따르면, 이들 프로야구팬이 중요하게 고려하는 프로야구구단의 ESG 평가요인 으로 환경, 투명경영, 사회공헌이 도출되었다. 따라서 본 연구에서 도출된 프로구단 ESG경영 평가지표는 향후 프로야구 구단 및 학계 연구자들에게 ESG 경영평가 요소에 대한 기준을 제공하고, ESG 효과성 관련 후속연구를 위한 신뢰도와 타당도가 확보된 평가지표를 제공할 것으로 기대된다.
