This study aims to examine the relationships among peer attachment, parental achievement pressure, self-esteem, and happiness as perceived by adolescents. For this purpose, the study targeted 1,314 first-year middle school students using the 14th year (2021) data from the "Panel Study on Korean Children(PSKC)" conducted by the Korea Institute of Child Care and Education. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was employed for analysis, and the key findings are as follows. First, peer attachment had a significant positive effect on both self-esteem and happiness. Parental achievement pressure significantly influenced self-esteem, which had a significant impact on happiness. However, parental achievement pressure did not directly affect adolescents’ happiness. Second, self-esteem partially mediated the relationship between peer attachment and happiness, while it fully mediated the relationship between parental achievement pressure and happiness. These findings suggest the importance of enhancing peer relationships and reducing parental achievement pressure to improve adolescents’ happiness. The results provide foundational data for developing educational intervention programs aimed at supporting middle school students’ happiness.

본 연구는 청소년이 지각하는 또래애착, 부모의 성취압력, 자아존중감 및 행복감 간의 관계를 파악하기 위한 서술 연구이다. 이를 위해 육아정책연구소의 「한국아동패널」14차년도(2021년) 자료인 중학교 1학년 1,314명을 연구대상으로 하였다. 구조방정식으로 분석하였으며 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 청소년의 또래애착은 자아존중감과 행복감에 유의한 영향을 미쳤고, 부모의 성취압력은 자아존중감에 유의한 영향을 미쳤으며, 청소년의 자아존중감은 행복감에 유의한 영향 을 미쳤다. 그러나 부모의 성취압력은 자녀의 행복감에 직접적으로 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째 또래애착이 행복감에 미치는 영향은 자아존중감을 매개로 부분매개효과를 보였고, 부모의 성취압력은 자아존중감을 매개 로 유의한 완전 매개효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 청소년기에 진입하는 중학생들의 행복감을 높이기 위해 또래 관계를 높여주고 부모의 성취압력을 줄여주기 위한 교육 중재프로그램의 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다.
