This study examines the educational value of online museums from an art education perspective and explores their potential applications in school curricula. Through a literature review and case analysis, it compares the operational strategies of online museums in South Korea and abroad to identify areas for improvement. The findings indicate that while international online museums actively integrate AI and digital technologies to enhance interactivity and provide personalized learning experiences, domestic online museums primarily rely on static information delivery, limiting their educational effectiveness. To function as an effective educational platform, domestic online museums must establish real-time interactive systems, promote free-choice learning, and implement AI- and VR/AR-based personalized learning environments. This study contributes to advancing online museum education in South Korea and serves as a foundational resource for future discussions on the integration of digital technology in art education.

본 연구는 온라인 미술관이 미술교육적 관점에서 가지는 교육적 가치를 분석하고, 학교 교육에서의 활용 가능성을 탐색하는 것을 목표로 하였다. 이를 위해 문헌연구와 사례분석을 통해 국내외 온라인 미술관의 운영 현황을 비교하고, 국내 온라인 미술관의 개선 방향을 모색하였다. 연구 결과, 해외 온라인 미술관은 AI 및 디지털 기술을 적극 활용하여 상호작용성과 맞춤형 학습 환경을 제공하는 반면, 국내 온라인 미술관은 정적인 정보 제공 방식에 머무르고 있어 교육적 활용에 한계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 따라 국내 온라인 미술관이 보다 효과적인 교육 플랫폼으로 기능하기 위해서는 실시간 상호작용 시스템 구축, 자유선택학습 활성화, AI 및 VR/AR 기술을 활용한 개인 맞춤형 학습 환경 조성이 필요함을 제안하였다. 본 연구는 국내 온라인 미술관 교육의 발전 방향을 제시함으로써, 향후 미술교육에서 디지털 기술과 연계한 온라인 학습이 나아갈 방향을 탐색하는 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
