This study is a descriptive research study to determine the correlation between knowledge about withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment, awareness of biomedical ethics, awareness of hospice, self-esteem, and attitude toward withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment among public health college students. This study was conducted with 184 students in the health field, and the data were analyzed using the SPSS WIN 22.0 program. The results of this study showed that there was no significant difference in attitudes toward discontinuation of life-sustaining treatment according to the general characteristics of the subjects, but there was a significant positive correlation between attitudes toward discontinuation of life-sustaining treatment and awareness of biomedical ethics, awareness of hospice, and self-esteem. Accordingly, systematic learning and education on awareness of biomedical ethics and awareness of hospice are necessary for college students in the health field to establish the attitudes and ethical values that they should show as health care professionals in dilemma situations.

본 연구는 보건계열 대학생의 연명치료중단에 대한 지식, 생명의료윤리의식, 호스피스 인식, 자아존중감과 연명치료중단에 대한 태도 간 상관관계를 파악하기 위한 서술적 조사 연구이다. 본 연구는 보건계열 대학생 184명 을 대상으로 시행되었으며 자료 분석은 SPSS WIN 22.0 프로그램을 이용하였다. 본 연구결과 대상자의 일반적 특성에 따른 연명치료중단 태도는 유의한 차이가 없었다. 연명치료중단에 대한 태도와 생명의료윤리의식, 호스피스 인식, 자아존중감 간에는 유의한 정적 상관관계가 나타났다. 이에 따라 보건의료계열 대학생이 연명치료중단과 관 련된 딜레마 상황에서 보건의료인으로서 보여야 하는 올바른 태도와 윤리적 가치관 확립을 위해 생명의료윤리의식 과 호스피스 인식 등에 대한 체계적인 교육이 필요하다.
