In the past, universities have contributed to the development of the nation and society as higher education and research institutions that explore and teach academics. However, the concentration in the metropolitan area due to technological advancement and low birth rate and aging phenomenon is causing a crisis of extinction of local communities. Local universities are promoting industry-academia cooperation activities as a way to respond to the crisis of extinction of local communities by utilizing their capabilities. In this study, in order to advance the performance of industry-university cooperation, we analyzed the impact of the capabilities of participants in industry-university cooperation on the performance of the company from the perspective of a company rather than a university, and verified the role of trust in this process. The analysis results are summarized as follows. First of all, the capabilities of companies and universities related to industry-university cooperation were found to have a positive influence on the performance of companies' industry-university cooperation. Trust was confirmed to have a mediating effect that has a positive effect on the company's performance by being influenced by the capabilities of the industry-academia cooperation entity. Based on these analysis results, practical and policy implications can be derived as follows. Since it has been confirmed that a significant positive relationship exists between the capabilities and performance of the entities participating in industry-academia cooperation, efforts are needed to establish systems or programs that can strengthen the capabilities of each entity in industry-academia cooperation. Above all, universities must supplement shortcomings in corporate management activities and provide professional industry-academia cooperation services. Companies should also increase their understanding of the industry-academia cooperation activities provided by universities and actively participate.

과거 대학은 학문을 탐구하고 가르치는 고등 교육기관이자 연구기관으로써 국가와 사회발전에 이바지해왔다. 하지만 기술의 발전과 저출 생·고령화 현상으로 인한 수도권 집중화 현상은 지역사회의 소멸 위기를 유발하고 있다. 지역대학은 보유하고 있는 역량을 활용하여 지역사회 의 소멸 위기에 대응하는 방법으로 산학협력 활동을 내세우고 있다. 본 연구에서는 산학협력 성과의 고도화를 위해 대학이 아닌 기업의 관점에 서 산학협력 참여 주체의 역량이 기업의 성과에 미치는 영향을 분석하고, 이 과정에서 신뢰의 역할에 대하여 검증하였다. 분석한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 우선 산학협력과 관련한 기업과 대학의 역량은 기업의 산학협력 성과에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으 로 나타났다. 신뢰는 산학협력 주체의 역량에 영향을 받아 기업의 성과에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 매개효과를 갖는 것으로 확인되었다. 이러한 분석 결과를 바탕으로 실무적·정책적 시사점을 도출하면 다음과 같이 정리할 수 있다. 산학협력 참여 주체의 역량과 성과 사이에 유의한 정(+) 의 관계가 성립하는 것이 확인되었으므로 주체별 산학협력의 역량을 강화할 수 있는 제도나 프로그램을 마련하려는 노력이 필요하다. 무엇보 다 대학은 기업의 경영활동 과정에서 부족한 부분을 보완하고, 전문적인 산학협력 서비스를 제공해야 한다. 기업 또한 대학이 제공하는 산학협 력 활동에 대한 이해도를 높이고 적극적으로 참여해야 할 것이다.
