In this study, we attempted to discuss the cultural aspects of sport horseback riding, which has recently been tested for its potential for popularization and industrialization, based on various philosophical perspectives. Actions like these will be meaningful in increasing the sustainability of the equestrian industry. To this end, first, the characteristics and issues of horseback riding culture were discussed; second, how horseback riding differentiates classes was discussed; and finally, how the media affects horseback riding and public behavior was discussed. The significance of this study is that it comprehensively explored issues related to horseback riding culture at a time when most recent research on horseback riding is from a pragmatic perspective, which may provide various implications for the popularization and industrialization of horseback riding.

본 연구에서는 최근 대중화와 산업화의 가능성을 시험받고 있는 스포츠 승마의 문화적 측면에 대해 다양한 철학적 관점을 토대로 논의하고 자 하였다. 이와 같은 행위는 승마 산업의 지속가능성을 높이는 데 의미 있는 일이 될 것이다. 이를 위해서 첫째, 승마 문화의 특징 및 이슈에 대 해 논의하였으며, 둘째, 승마가 어떻게 계급을 구분 짓는지에 대해 논의 하였으며, 마지막으로 미디어가 승마와 대중들의 행위에 어떻게 작용하 는지 논의하였다. 본 연구의 의의는 최근 승마 관련 실용주의 관점의 연 구가 대부분인 시점에서, 승마 문화에 관한 이슈를 포괄적으로 탐색하였 으며, 이는 승마가 대중화되고 산업화하는 데 있어 다양한 시사점을 줄 수 있을 것이다.
