The purpose of this study is to identify emerging commercial districts in Busan by analyzing data from the local currency prepaid card transactions and to provide valuable insights for market participants. Traditional methods such as statistical data analysis or surveys often fall short in representing the overall population adequately. To address this limitation, we leveraged local currency transaction data to conduct an in-depth analysis of the regional economic trends. The data were aggregated by postal code to examine the growth rates of commercial districts and identify industry-specific trends using the Dynamic Time Warping (DTW) algorithm. The analysis revealed that Ilgwang-myeon in Gijang-gun and Daejeo 1-dong in Gangseo-gu are emerging commercial districts. These areas are characterized by a relatively young consumer demographic, predominantly in their 30s and 50s, with high utilization rates in convenience stores, restaurants, and leisure sectors. By analyzing the key factors influencing the growth of commercial districts, this study provides critical insights for predicting future commercial potential. Businesses can use these findings to develop effective store-opening and marketing strategies, administrative bodies can design tailored policies, and small business owners can better understand the characteristics of their markets, enabling swift adaptation to changing commercial environments. The methodology of segmenting commercial districts based on postal codes allows for a more granular reflection of regional characteristics compared to traditional area-centered analyses. This approach enables more accurate identification of regions with high growth potential, facilitates comparative and relational analyses of commercial districts, and introduces a novel perspective to corporate data analysis practices. It suggests that this method can provide more effective and actionable insights for regional economic development and policymaking.

본 연구의 목적은 부산 지역화폐 선불카드 데이터를 분석해 신흥 상권을 도출하고, 그 속성을 파악하여 시장 참여자들에게 유용한 정보를 제공하는 데 있다. 기존의 통계 데이터나 설문조사 방식은 모집단의 대표성을 충분히 반영하지 못하는 한계가 있다. 이를 해결하기 위해 지역화폐 거래 데이터를 활용하여 지역 경제의 흐름을 심층적으로 분석하고자 한다. 데이터는 우편번호 단위로 집계하여 지역별 상권 성장률을 분석하고, 업종별 트렌드를 파악하기 위해 Dynamic Time Warping(DTW) 알고리즘을 적용 하였다. 분석 결과, 기장군 일광면과 강서구 대저1동이 신흥 상권으로 성장하고 있음을 확인했다. 이들 지역은 30대와 50대의 비교적 젊은 소비층이 주를 이루며, 편의점, 음식점, 레저 업종의 이용 빈도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 상권 성장에 영향을 미치는 주요 요인을 분석함으로써 향후 상권의 발전 가능성을 예측하는 데 중요한 정보를 제공한다. 이를 통해 기업은 효과적인 점포 개설과 마케팅 전략을 수립할 수 있으며, 행정기관은 맞춤형 정책을 개발하고, 소상공인은 상권의 특성을 파악해 변화하는 상업 환경에 신속히 대응할 수 있다. 우편번호를 기반으로 상권을 구분하는 방법은 기존 특정 지역 중심의 분석을 넘어 지역 특성을 세밀히 반영할 수 있다. 이 방법은 상권 성장 가능성이 높은 지역을 보다 정확히 식별하고, 상권 간 비교 및 연계 분석을 가능하게 하여 기업의 데이터 분석 실무에 새로운 접근법을 제시한다. 이는 지역 경제 발전과 정책 수립에 효과적이고 실질적인 정보를 제공할 수 있음을 시사한다.
